Fab 'n' Funky ~ Christmas
Hey there my crafty pals. I hope you've all had good weeks, mine has been busy as usual, but has involved lots of cuddles with my poorly wee man. He's back at school today, though still not 100%. Fingers crossed he lasts the day. But I'm here to tell you about the new challenge kicking off over at Fab 'n' Funky today, so let me get to that. Our hostess this week is our lovely Chris and the theme is Christmas. We're helping you get ahead of the Christmas rush by having a Christmas challenge at the end of every month and the end of June has rolled around already, so we have reached our 'mid-year' Christmas challenge. Eeep, Christmas will be here again before you know it! So come and join us this challenge and let us help you get ready for Christmas.
We have the lovely folks at Bugaboo sponsoring our challenge this week, which couldn't be better, because they have some really sweet and fun Christmas images. The DT have been spoilt to bits with a sweet image to use for the challenge. I chose the very cute Christmas Moose Ornaments, which reminds me of the fabulous New Year celebration we spent with our Scandinavian pals in Sjobo, Sweden. But that's quite a long story, so suffice to say, it involved Moose! I think it'll be perfect to send to their boys this Christmas.
I decided I wanted to use some cute reindeer confetti I had to create a shaker card, so combined some gold snowflakes with the silver reindeer and some smaller gold stardust sequin confetti which was from SpiegelMom Scraps. I used a shaker card foam kit from Queen & Co to create the layers, but cut the circular frame from red cardstock using a Lil' Inkers Stitched Circle die.
The patterned paper is one I picked up last Christmas from a local store and is from the Rosie's Studio range. I thought the baubles worked well with the image and would you believe I coloured the image before picking out the paper? The colours were a fab match!
I've distressed the edges of the papers and the card base is slightly smaller than the patterned paper, so the distressed edge is the edge of the card. Not sure how that will go in an envelope, but we'll see. I used an earthy toned Washi Tape to trim the bottom edge, I doubled it up as it was too pale and showed the red through otherwise.
I've used elements from an MME set called Mistletoe Magic and the sentiment I used was from an Echo Park elements set from the Very Merry Christmas range. The image was coloured with my Promarkers, still my favourite 'go to' colouring medium. Isn't this wee moose a cutie?!
Well that's it from me for now. I hope you'll join us this week for our Christmas challenge. I was feeling particularly festive and even found myself singing 'Deck The Halls' when I was making this, wonder what could have caused that?! LOL. I'll be back really soon with my next crafty adventure, in the meantime, I wish you a fabulous week or what's left of it and do come and join in the festive fun with us at Fab 'n' Funky this week for our Christmas Challenge. Hugs, Wends xoxo
