Fab 'n' Funky ~ Christmas in July
Hello my lovely blogland buddies. It's time for a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky and it's the end of the month, so that means it's time for another Christmas challenge. Our hostess this week is the lovely Susan and our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Di's Digi Stamps.
The adorable image I've used for my card is called Snowy Chitchat and you can find it on the Christmas page of Di's Digi Stamps site. There are some utterly enchanting images there. I've had this sweet image for quite a while now and been meaning to colour it up, so this was a great excuse to do so! I had a wee inky adventure with the background on the stamp having chosen a sweet paper from a Forever Friends set I got a while back through a Papercrafts Essentials magazine. It's called A Christmas Tale and I just loved the inky snowy sky on this, so I tried to colour up the image to match. Not perfect, but considering it was done with Promarkers and not Distress Inks, I'm happy with how this came out. I dotted white pen ink over to create the snow (where the image had snowfall, plus a few extra).
I added a textured white cardstock hill to the card that was cut with a Spellbinders Borderabilities A2 Curved One die, then stamped the sentiment directly onto it. I also fussy cut a wee tree from the off cuts of the paper and added that over the border die for a little more interest. I've added some glitter to that tree and the large one on the other side of the image, also to the snow at the feet of the snowman. On the snowman himself, I used a little Wink of Stella, so he sparkles slightly in the right light. I finished off the card, by stamping Santa's sleigh across the moon using a stamp from a Marianne Designs set called Eline's X-mas Mail (EC0142) from the Eline's Owls collection. A sweet and simple CAS Christmas card.
I hope you'll come join us for our Christmas challenge this month. I haven't made many cards yet this year for Christmas, so I need to get a wriggle on as it'll be here before we know it! My teamies have created some utterly gorgeous cards, so pop over to the blog to check them out and do come join in the festive fun with us this challenge. I'll be back again soon with my next crafty adventure. Hugs, Wends xoxo

I have a soft spot for cute snowmen so this one's a total winner for me, with his little penguin pal - adorable!
I think you did a fab job with the inky background and it most certainly doesn't look out of place with the DP backing..and I am super picky about things matching so it must be ok - lol!
I also really like the sentiment...I am not bothered about presents or shopping or anything really commercial at Christmas...I just love to be with family and friends and have fun, so this sentiment reflects that perfectly :-)
Big hugs, Kat xx
Thanks for joining us at Sparkles Monthly Challenges blog and good luck !
