Fab 'n' Funky ~ Christmas Comes Early

Hey there my lovely blog pals. I am popping in today with a DT post for Fab 'n' Funky. We didn't have any sponsor images for this challenge, so we got to create what we wanted and I of course fell back on my fav' Sugar Nellie images. I do so love this sweet image called Hello Little Robin, by one of my all time favourite illustrators Marina Fedotova.

I was playing with Autumnal colours and themes at the time I coloured this up, so it kinda influenced my creation. It's still very definitely a Winter themed Christmas card, but with Autumnal hues. It's our final challenge for October, so keeping with out commitment to do a 'Christmas' challenge at the end of each month, we are indeed doing an 'Anything Christmas Goes' challenge this month. So pull out your gorgeous Christmas stamps and goodies and play along with us this week.

I'm slowly adding to my Christmas Card pile, and trying hard to get a few quick and easy makes done. But this one I took my time over, colouring the background, adding Frantage Snow, glittering the wings etc. I spent so long on the actual image, I didn't want to do anything in the card design that would detract from it. So it's as CAS as they come!

I added a sweet sentiment from a CC Designs set called Snowman Sentiments to finish the card, stamping it directly on the base paper with Memento Black Tuxedo. My kraft card base came with the lovely scalloped edge, so I added a simple plaid paper in Autumnal shades, which is from a gorgeous Maja Designs paper set called 'Walking In The Forest'. It's the B side of the page called 'Autumn Poem'. A swipe of chalk ink from Ingvild Bolme along the paper edges and a bit of foam beneath the image panel for dimension and hey presto, card done! Love that!! I used my Promarkers to colour this sweet image.

Stop on over at the challenge blog to see what my awesomely talented teamies have been up to. I'm inspired all over again after looking at their gorgeous creations. Our lovely Jools is the hostess for our Christmas challenge. I hope you'll come and join in the fun with us all, we do so love to see what inspires you. I'll be back soon with a non DT related post, (I know right, when did that happen last?!) and as promised, (yes, I know I'm a mean tease), my blog candy will follow soon too. Until then, may your mojo flow and the fun abound. Have an awesome week. Hugs, Wends xoxo

What an adorable Christmas card Wendy! Just wanted to pop in and say hello my friend. It's been a long year and I have lost track of so many of my bloggy friends during my absence. I hope all has been well with you, and you've made lots of time for crafting! Our temperatures have been up and down this autumn, but at least the nights are getting cooler and I'm thankful for that. We've had lots of rain and I'm hoping that's a sign that we will get lots of snow this year. Wouldn't that be great!! lol. sending hugs :)
