Hey there lovelies. I hope your week is going well. I'm currently up North on holibobs with my mummy and kiddos. Fingers crossed the weather improves from what's forecast as I'm writing this, it's due to be rain the whole time we're away! Sigh, Murphy's Law eh. My Whimsy Wednesday post for you today, is a sweet creation I made using the Sympathy Bugs from Whimsy Stamps illustrator Sylvia Zet. I love her sweet and wistful illustrations. I think these lil' bugs are the absolute cutest bugs! I loved colouring them in a very muted palette. Quite Autumnal really now I look at it!
I coloured them with my Promarkers and I was intending this to be a single layer card initially, so coloured directly on the cardstock, which I realise now is a little less forgiving with extra ink. So it's bled in a couple of places. I thought it was too plain when I'd finished, so I chomped a couple of the corners and added some chalk ink around the image. I added a sentiment and a couple of little postmark stamps for interest and some glittery enamel dots. Then I mounted the whole thing onto a bigger kraft card base with a doily behind for texture and interest and finished with a gold and white bakers twine.
Such a simple wee card, but I just love it. The Sympathy Bugs image you can find in the Whimsy Stamps store along with an extensive range of Sylvia Zet's gorgeous images. I really do love her sweet characters. I'd love one of each! I didn't use any digital paper tonight, which is a departure from the norm for me, but watch this space for my next Whimsy Wednesday Inspiration post as I totally will next time! I hope you enjoyed my wee creation and I'll see you again really soon with my next Whimsy Digital Design Divas creation. Hugs to you all xoxo
