Whimsy ~ Digital Release ~ Day 2
Hey there lovely blogging pals. I hope you're having a wonderful Easter break. I celebrated my birthday on Good Friday, which was a lovely treat. I've busy this week helping my sis with her newborn, so it was lovely to be home with my loved ones for my birthday. If you'd like to see some of my birthday pics click here to pop over to my birthday post if you want a peek. Today, I'd love to share with you the first of my DT creations for our latest Digital New Release at Whimsy Stamps. There are some scrummy papers this release and I have worked with two of them to create some CAS designs, I really love.
I created two cards with these gorgeous new release digital papers from Whimsy Stamps. These are from the Starry Night Digital Papers created by Denise Lynn. Denise is not only the owner of Whimsy Stamps but also one of the talented designers. I love these papers, which would suit so many starry night, moon rocket, wistful creations. I chose to go down the wistful route and create a sweet and simple CAS creation that's popped up on thick foam for dimension. I distressed the paper edges with my scissors.
I used a lovely digital sentiment from the Vintage Sentiments set by Bev Rochester. It was exactly the sentiment I wanted as I love that sweet book called 'Guess How Much I Love You' with the Little Nutbrown Hare by Sam McBratney and illustrated by Anita Jeram. I give this sweet book to every newborn baby in my life. I just think it's enchanting and this card was created to capture a little of that.
The foam dimension is quite deep on this creation. That base really sits up from the base card. I just wanted it to 'pop' a little. The white base card, is actually a lovely textured cardstock, impossible to see in these pictures, but gives the design a lovely classy finish.
The little moon diecut is an older die from Whimsy Stamps, it was part of a set of dies that cut a moon, star and sunburst design. I love that I can still pull out my older stash and find great uses for them. This wee crescent moon die was perfect to finish my creation. The pic below better shows the sparkle on the moon. It's really tricky to get the sparkle captured in the bigger pics. You can just see the sparkle I added to some of the stars in this pic too. It's in soft focus, but it was the only way to catch the sparkle. The sparkle is really pretty and much more impressive in reality.
Pop on over to the Whimsy Stamps Store to check out all the awesome New Releases they have this month. There is the Digital New Release and also the Rubber & Clear Stamps, Dies and Stencils Release. All you can find if you click through on the link below.
Thanks for stopping in to visit my blog and I hope you like my CAS creation. I'll be back again tomorrow with another New Release design, so watch this space. Hugs and happy crafting xoxo
