Whimsy Wednesday ~ Make A Wish
Hey there my lovely blog pals. It's been a dreadfully stormy day here, no light for photos sadly, but I've done my best to capture this sweetie. It's time for my regular Whimsy Wednesday post. I didn't do a Wednesday post last week, as we had just had our new release go live, and of course I share two creations with you those weeks. So it feels like a while since I posted a Whimsy creation! I made this sweet creation for my sister in laws birthday. Her first as a mummy. Such an exciting time, so I wanted to mark the occasion with something really pretty. I made her baby daughter a sweet card using a Sylvia Zet image recently, so I thought I'd do one for mummy too. You can check out Sienna's card here. For this card, I used the sweet Sylvia Zet image Rowan Fairy from Whimsy Stamps.
I just love this wistful sweet image. I've coloured her with my copics and added Wink of Stella to her wings and the little scattered hearts. I also added some Nuvo Crystal drops for a bit of interest. I added too many and had to take a couple away as the image suddenly looked swamped. I think there's a better balance now. Thank goodness I used a clear one! The little hearts were 'waste' from the pretty Whimsy Stamps frame die I used.
I used an older Whimsy corner die and cut it from the same paper as the base paper I used. This is a lovely Whimsy digital paper from the latest release. I LOVE green, so this paper set really appealed to me as it had a couple of gorgeous green paper designs. The set is called 'Floral Grass'.
I edged the paper and image with green chalk ink, added a layer of pink sparkly ribbon and some pearl sprays and finished the ribbon section with a tiny tag and button twine bow. I also added a really cool cabochon to the design. It was a perfect match for the colours in the paper and has the sweetest little birdhouse on it. So I thought that tied in sweetly with this image.
I popped the image panel up on foam for a bit of dimension and interest and finished the card by adding pearls to the other corners that didn't have the pearl sprays and also to the corner die. I'm really pleased with the little elegant touch the pearls added to this creation. I don't often bling up a creation to this degree, but I love how this came together.
If you like what I've used to create this card, you can click through to the Whimsy Stamps store via the thumbnails at the bottom of this post. This last release was so gorgeous and there are so many items on my wishlist now. I just got a sneak peek at what's coming in the May release and you're gonna LOVE it!! I'll be posting on the main Whimsy Inspiration blog next week, so I'll share a link to that post when it's live. Our new challenge kicks off next week too, so if you're creating with a Whimsy Stamps image, be sure to come and play along in our challenge. You can find the current one here and there are still a few days left to enter if you've already got a creation ready. Thanks for popping in to visit today. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, in the meantime, be sure to click through to the store to check out all the Whimsy gorgeousness on offer. Hugs xoxo
