Southern Girls ~ A Little Bit Goth

Hey crafty pals, it's time for another challenge Down Under at the Southern Girls. This fortnight, we'd love to see your creations that are a little dark and edgy. Now I gotta be honest with you, I don't 'do' dark and edgy, I'm a sunshine and light kinda girl all the way, so this does challenge me! I do love fun quirky images though and I found one from our Sponsor 'Oddball Arts' that fit the bill. I think this moustache wearing teen looks like she'd totally light up a party!

I couldn't think of anyone I'd give this to on a card, so I made a bookmark, as they always come in handy! Totally keeping it for myself as I was really pleased with the finished piece.

I started off with green hair on her, but she looked awful since I'd done her eyes green too! So she wound up with a few extra tendrils at the base as I tried to cover my green hair. Well black hair is traditional for Goths right?! So I think it fits! Hehe. The fab 'moustache' paper is from Pixel Scrapper designer Sharon-Dewi Stolp. It's such a fun paper and was perfect for this creation.

I created the tassel with some twine and twisted and looped the strands to give it a little weight and texture after adding it to the bookmark. I hunted the house high and low to find my Crop-A-Dile to add an eyelet, but alas, I have no idea where I've put it! So I used a couple of doughnut shaped sequins just to give the card a bit of extra strength were the tassel attaches. Those fun lil' moustaches in the pic are from a 'Bucket of Moustaches' game based on the 'Barrel of Monkeys' game. We had a lot of fun with this game at a friends wedding!

We'd love you to come and play along with us this week and share your makes that are 'A Little Bit Goth' and edgy. We have two fabulous sponsors this challenge, so there's always a wonderful prize up for grabs in our challenges and most weeks we have two! Oddball Art and my favourite New Zealand craft retailer Krafter's Cart are sponsoring us this fortnight, so join us for some edgy crafty fun! See you again really soon and have a wonderful week. Hugs, Wends xoxo

LOL...I don't do dark and edgy either...wouldn't know where to start actually!! However, I reckon this ticks all the boxes, such a great idea to make a bookmark xx

You did well with your "dark" card. Not my cuppa tea at all either.

The image is a little dark but my daughter would love every other element of this book mark - her favourite colour is orange and she would like the music, star, texture...

Thank you for sharing with the Oddball Challenge!
