Whimsy Stamps ~ September Delights

Hello my lovely crafty pals, hope you're having a good week. I'm here to share a sweet creation I've made with a super cute stamp scene by the talented Barbara Sproatmeyer for Whimsy Stamps from her cute Polka Dot Pals line. I really enjoy her stamp scenes as I prefer the images to have faces. I know there are stamps you can use to create these with the clear sets and they're awesome for sure, but I'm less inclined to create those faces for fear I'd mess it up! So enter Barbara's full digital scenes, where the cute characters already have their facial features and other sweet details including awesome background scenes. These are so fun to colour!

My sweet niece Isabelle has just started school in the States and I coloured up this sweet image to look like her to celebrate this very exciting and important milestone. What a time to start school with all the world has going on! So a little love and encouragement to focus on the joy I thought might be a good thing. How sweet is this scene?! Perfect for a wee girlie starting school I think!

Whilst my Northern Hemisphere pals may be enjoy the golding of the leaves and Autumn Chill in the air, we have definitely here in Auckland this past week started to feel the bloom of Spring. The days are a little warmer and the blossoms are starting to show their beautiful faces. Honestly, I'd live year round in these two seasons. I LOVE Autumn and Spring, they are my favourites. I love the temperate weather and beautiful changes in nature during both seasons. I love, in Autumn, the beautiful mushrooms that grow, and this sweet image has the cutest mushroom feature on the log! I couldn't resist adding some '3D' detailing to give it texture. So I pulled out some Nuvo Ripened Pumpkin Crystal Drops to add that bit of interest and dimension. 

I decided on some Orange accents to tie this rainbow themed creation together. Her orange shirt, the orange mushrooms, and an orange envelope to finish. I also went for a slimline approach with this creation, but rather than use a slimline die from my stash (because I have a few, I'm a little obsessed!) I actually chose to use a regular die meant to cut a standard American card sized rectangle, but used just the top portion of the die to cut the stitch details both ends of the card. This card is a little wider than other slimlines, fitting perfectly inside a standard British DL envelope.

I'll be back again before long, with another crafty adventure, because it seems Mr Mojo has returned from his walkabout. So I'm getting in a few crafty moments where I can and I have some fun things to share with you very shortly. Sigh, I love these temperate months so much! They totally inspire me to craft!
