Whimsy Stamps ~ Sending You Winter Cheer
Hey crafty friends, I'm back as promised with the next creation I made for the first Whimsy Stamps Digital Release of 2021. We have some cuties that have returned to Whimsy Stamps, you may recall our Meljen's Collection from back in the day that used to be rubber stamps? We have the collection returning in Digital and there are some super cuties. I share the cute Snowboy creation I made with you previously and now this cutie, which is called Chubby Snowbird, I'm sharing today.
I really wanted to make this cutie 'taller' so I could use him on a slimline card, so with the magic of digital, I added a few centimetres of length to his legs, so he'd better fill a slimline card. I really love how it came out too. Super cute. The design comes with these cute sparkles around it, so I drew on that as inspiration to add the sequins and little scatter embellishments. I also went over the stamp sparkles with silvery Gelly Roll pen to make them shiny.
I miss the beautiful wee robins that used to visit our garden in London, they were such sweet visitors when we lived there. The kiddies used to love watching them. We had little feeders and water trays for our sweet visitors too. So I of course wanted to colour up this cutie as a robin. Not sure I nailed the look completely, but the hint is most definitely there! I gave him a plaid scarf and used that same Gelly Roll to create the lurex thread look to give it a little sparkle. I was inspired to try the plaid scarf after seeing the very talented Faye Wynn-Jones do this on a creation. I just love how it looks (not in any small way related to my utter passion for plaid of course!)
I played around with a few different photo layouts to find a good shot of this cutie. I rather liked the warm light in this last shot, so have included it. As the lil' paper tab says in the backing paper, be safe! It's super scary the UK going back into lockdown. I wish you all protected from this nasty virus. I keep hearing stories of friends or their family picking up this bug and some it barely effects and others are so ill, it's just awful. So be safe and stay well out there.
I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure and I'm hoping to snap a shot of my lovely crafty Christmas stash this afternoon, so will share that when I can too. Because we have to focus on the good stuff after this horrid past year, don't we?! Love to know what you got from Santa for Christmas too! Hugs to you all and happy crafting xoxo
