Whimsy Stamps ~ Meljen's Frog Prince
Hey crafty pals, I'm very late sharing this cute creation with you. It's been a bit of a crazy week since our fabulous February release went live! I'm an aunty again! My sweet little nephew was born on the 31st of January, all well and healthy and so serene and laid back. He absolutely suits his name, Stellan, a Swedish name that means 'peaceful one' or 'calm' and he so is! I've yet to have a cuddle sniff sniff, because this aunty has come down with Shingles! Boo!! So I'm currently sporting a super gorgeous swollen face and eye and sore scalp and neck. Not so fun, so you can see why I've been a little distracted of late.
What's not to love about a cute Frog Prince right?! Every little girls dream, hehe. I know we've all probably had to kiss a few frogs before finding our princes right?! This image from Meljen's Designs at Whimsy stamps was so easy to colour up and I love how it came out. I used a couple of Whimsy papers to create the background and also a fab simple sentiment from one of their latest sentiment sets. This set is fabulous for fitting little sentiments into smaller spaces. Perfect on their own or as a companion to go with a larger sentiment. I was so pleased with how this worked on this paper! A cute sentiment that worked perfectly with this image. I'll come back tomorrow with a few more pics, but I've run out of puff for today. Sending big hugs to you all, Wends xoxo
Hello again crafty pals. I'm back with a couple more pics as promised. I had totally run out of puff yesterday, and today it's taken me a while to get going, I've a little late burst of energy, so thought I'd add those extra pics before heading back to bed.
These were the components of the card before I layered them together. I wanted to show you this one, because the pink paper is rather lovely and gets covered so much by the image in the final piece. The papers come from two Whimsy paper set. The green one, was once a lovely physical paper set called Sweetness and yippee for those of us that like to be able to print a paper we love over again, it's now been released in digital. The pink paper is from the Buzzy Bees paper set.
I distressed the edge of the green paper for a bit of interest, but decided to use a frame for the pink paper, for something a little different. The little pink heart was on my table from doing some die-cutting recently, so I added that for a little extra touch. The pink gingham ribbon has been in my stash forever and I had to give it a bit of a dusting off to use it! I love gingham and have rather a large collection of it!
One final shot to try and show the sparkle on this wee chappy. I added quite a lot of sparkle and in reality, it's very pretty and sparkly and a nice white not this grey white that's shown in the photos. I've struggled with the light on these pics and was too poorly to reshoot. So here it is, as is. Just imagine a nicer white, not this lavender grey that's come up in the pics. Oh for studio lighting! Right, I'm off to bed, I'll link the elements below for quick reference. Wishing you all a wonderful rest of your week. The weekend is on it's way and for me, hopefully some pain free days. Hugs to you all, Wends xoxo
