Hello again my lovely crafty pals. I'm back to share the sweet creation I made for Georgie's birthday. You may recall I already made a sweet 'treat box' to give her some of her smaller gifts in, which she loved, but for her actual birthday card, I made her something that really reflected 'her'. My sweet rocker girl. For those of you who follow my blog, you may have heard me tell of my talented hubby, who writes a lot of music and is a very talented musician and for the past few years, Georgie has been honing her talent and following in his footsteps. So I wanted to reflect this in her birthday card for her sweet 16! Perfect then, that this month, we should have a rocker girl released as part of the Some Odd Girl collection! Only problem was, that Georgie just cut all her hair. So I gave Rocker Mae a wee hair cut too and I think she came out great!
I had fun personalising this for Georgie, with little elements that reflected her. The guitar had to be pink, because hers is. She loves plaid and tartan (like her mama) so I gave Mae a plaid skirt and I added little elements of sparkle and shine here and there. Mae of course was coloured to look like Georgie, with black hair and green eyes and a short cut to boot! So fun how this came together. I even gave her some fishnet stockings for a bit of an edgy twist (which Georgie loved, though she doesn't own any!)
The props for the photo are of course from Georgie's pic collection, her capo and strings, which all worked nicely to set the scene. The rest of the elements for this creation, the bokeh paper and pink stripe paper are from two Whimsy paper packs which I'll list at the end of the post. The fun sentiments and even those cheeky little stamps are from an older Whimsy clear stamp set called
Goth Star, which has a sentiment I really want to use that says 'Finding Emo', how fun is that?! So that may pop up in a later make. But for the birthday girl, this sentiment was perfect.
We have such a fab line up of images in our March Digital Release and so many in fact, that we couldn't showcase them all! So the team are hard at work creating a little magic with this line up. Be sure to check in to our
Facebook Group at Whimsy to see the stream of creations by the team and of course check out our fabulous
Whimsy Inspiration Blog where the DT are constantly sharing their Whimsy Magic! Our New Release post can be found
here and the full Digital Release
here. I will be back again very soon with some more Whimsy creative adventures. Wishing you a wonderful weekend and happy crafty adventures too. Hugs xoxo
