Whimsy Stamps ~ Blossom and Grow
Hello again crafty pals, yep, back for more, it's always a famine or a feast here on this blog, hehe. This creation is one I made with a beautiful floral stamp set from Whimsy that has a matching die that comes in the same stamp set. It really is a lovely image and was beautiful to work with in this simple approach I took.
I've used a multicolour stamp pad to create the graded colour change on these designs. So incredibly easy, but oh so pretty I think! I loved these colour gradient stamp pads when they first came out and have several, but they're very difficult to get hold of now. So replacing them is not easy. Happily mine are still going strong and the colours have lasted well in their seperate hues due to the clever technology that splits the colours whilst in storage, stopping any bleed between the colours. You snap them together to stamp and split them apart for storage. These stamps pads are from Tsukineko and the 5 colour pads are called Kaleidacolor. The colour set I've used for this creation is aptly named Bouquet. I've stamped the two cards slightly differently, shifting the colour gradient up or down according to the effect I was going for.
For this card, I've shifted the colours, so the greens and yellows sit nearer the bottom of the design, and tied some yellow baker's twine to tone with this. I embossed the background of both cards with a beautiful daisy embossing folder from Whimsy. It's actually one of our new slimline embossing folders, but I made it work for this American A2 style card.
With this second version, I moved the stamp, so there would be more orange near the twine and chose an orange baker's twine to complete this creation. I love a simple twine, baker's or otherwise, to finish a creation, I think it's such a simple but pretty finish. I popped up the flower border, which I diecut first using the matching die included in the set. I also made a matching envelope for the cards in a pretty granny apple green cardstock, using the Whimsy Stamps Small Envelope Die Set. This makes creating an envelope of an A2 sized card so quick and easy! It comes with an envelope liner option too, so if you like to embellish, you can absolutely can for those extra special cards. But to create a basic envelope, it's a quick and easy two die affair and they fit a standard die platform, no need for a bigger platform size, so easy and convenient.
Do pop by the Whimsy Inspiration Blog to check out what the rest of my talented Whimsy Teamies have been up to so far this month, they're a madly talented bunch! I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, see you then! Hugs xoxo
