Spellbinders ~ Christmas Joy

Hey there crafty friends, I'm here to share another crafty adventure with the Spellbinders stash I was sent. This time, I would like to share a focus on the embossing folders they sent me. I have seperate posts for the two different folders they sent, but today, would like to share the beautiful Poinsettia folder. These are part of the new 3D embossing folders and oh my heart, they are beautiful. The texture and depth of impression really is fabulous!

I used a lovely soft pink paper and embossed it with the Poinsettia 3D embossing folder, then sprayed some gold tone ink splatter over it, afterwards, coming in with some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Cosmic Brown on the raised berries and centres of the poinsettia. This is a fun textural messy ink technique just to add a bit of interest to the panel. I then diecut the lovely label shape and the insert that cuts the little diamond trellis effect from a shimmery pink cardstock. I cut the label again minus the trellis insert from vellum to back the label so it stood out from the base better. (You may recall the black cat tag I made with the offcuts from this trellis element.)

I used the J and Y from the Spellbinders Stitched Alphabet Collection of Etched Dies, diecutting the shadows from cream cardstock and the letters from copper coloured glitter cardstock. I didn't stitch any of the details on the letters, because I love the style of these dies without adding any extra stitching details and felt it would be too busy with the background I'd chosen, so left them plain.

I wanted to create a wreath in place of the 'O' in the centre of the word JOY. So took the doughnut shaped die from the Camper Life add on set, which I've shared previously. I partially cut the die, so I didn't get the little bites out of the doughnut, but a full doughnut shape. I built the wreath around this, adding lots of little flowers from the Seasonal Label Motifs - Summer and Spring sets. I used foliage from both these sets too, cut from the same copper glitter paper. I added some sweet pink sequins from Spellbinders here and there to fill out the gaps in the wreath and embellished the centres of the flowers with a mix of the little paper centres, that come as part of the diecutting floral elements, but also added some of the lovely Opal gems from Spellbinders in different sizes. I finished the little wreath with a pink double bow in picot edged satin ribbon.

I really love how this creation came together, so I've embossed a few extra panels to continue with my Christmas creations. I'm happy to be getting a few together for the Christmas pile. I always tend to leave my Christmas crafting far too late so it's been really lovely to have so many gorgeous Christmas elements to craft with from Spellbinders.

A sneaky peek of some of the extra panels I've embossed, I look forward to sharing what I create with these very soon. I really love how the top two came out, so I'll work on those next. It really is such a lovely 3D embossing folder. I have several more on my wishlist now! You may note this is quite a large embossing folder. My finished card size was cut down to 5x7, so there's plenty of lovely embossed panel to work with!
