Spellbinders ~ Official Candy Taster Tag

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with another creation using the fabulous Spellbinders stash I was sent to work with. I've really enjoyed this crafty adventure and have been thinking 'outside the box' with this creation. I decided to pull together some Spellbinders sets to create a little Halloween tag. I started things off by blending a little black soot around the tag base, prompted by an idea that came to mind when diecutting for another creation.

When I was diecutting the gorgeous labels from the Spring Label Motif for a card, which I will share later, I saw the little diamond shaped pieces of diecut waste falling away as I was working with that die and a plan came together, to use those little waste pieces to create a patio tile effect. I had cut a label from shimmery pink cardstock and another from a pink iridescent cardstock, so I used both to create a fun patio tile floor on the tag.
So all those little diamond tile pieces I've carefully glued one by one to create the fun patio tile effect and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out but I'm equally thankful it was quite a small canvas! I've included the product image above, so you can see the lattice like die that inspired this creation. The actual die you might spot in the photos too. This set is lovely and I've used it as intended on another couple of creations which I will share soon, but I really loved how this cute Halloween tag came together and couldn't wait to share this.

I love Halloween creations that use pink, I'm definitely a 'Too Cute To Spook' Halloween crafter, I don't cope well with gory imagery, so I tend to gravitate to cute Halloween images. As soon as I saw this cat set from Spellbinders, I knew I wanted to use them for Halloween creations. This set is from my stash, not one of the ones I was sent to work with, but how beautifully do these coordinate in this creation?!

I added some bats from a sequin set I had in my stash from Little Things From Lucy's Cards from an older set called Ghoulish, sadly no longer available, as it's a great mix. The little bat I finished the ribbon topper with, is from another embellishment set from my stash. This is a Buttons Galore Embellishments set called Gone Batty. I think he's cute topping off that tag and kitty looks suitable engrossed watching the bats waiting for the Trick or Treaters. Or at least, that's the story in my head! The ribbon mix is a pink cotton lace, some pink picot trimmed satin ribbon and black organza ribbon.

The sentiment is from a fabulous Spellbinders Halloween Sentiment set called Boo Dance Party Sentiments, which I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on pink cardstock and popped up on foam. Now as for 'our official candy tasters', the candy didn't last long after the photo shoot. It's red licorice dipped in chocolate and coated in a strawberry candy shell. The boys gobbled it up double time! (I may have also had one or two.) So I'll need to buy more for Halloween!

Thank you my friends for popping in to visit today. I still one or two creations to share from my Spellbinders adventures, I took a few days break from posting them to create some more!
