Whimsy Stamps ~ Retro Dancers Big Birthday Card
Hey crafty friends, I am sharing a slimline card today made with a mix of cool Whimsy Stamps elements for a special friend who is celebrating a big birthday. I'm running late as usual, so it'll be a random act of love and hopefully extend the celebrations a little bit. It's never a 'bad' time to get a handmade card right? (I seriously need to work on getting to the post office more often!)
I love this fabulous Retro Dancers die set, they are just so fun for party themed birthday cards! I paired them with the cool Slimline Waves die set from Whimsy, which I thought created a rather fun scene for a slimline card. This layout totally made me think of London nightclubs and I just love the vibe this added.
I used a cool toner card front from the Celebrations 1 set from Whimsy, which I foiled with Lapis Watercolour Deco Foil and added this to a panel of black Gina K cardstock to frame the design before adding it to a slimline card base.
I added the dancers with black foam dots to pop them up a little, which worked well as the black just does not show behind the silhouette diecuts, totally stealth!
I finally added the sentiment which I diecut with the Fun with Words 2 die set. The set includes the word PARTY, but the set is really easy to make extra words with as the letters are not connected, so I was able to add 'TIME' to finish my sentiment really easily. There are two sets so far, not quite a full alphabet, but quite a lot of it with the two sets and so easy to create additional words with the two sets. I had such fun creating this and will enjoy giving it to celebrate a friends 'big' birthday.
We've just had a really fun release at Whimsy, with a rustic country theme and some hilarious stamps and sentiments. I can't wait to get my hands on a couple of these. I will be back again soon with another crafty adventure, until then, have a wonderful remainder of your week and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
(If you like any of the elements I've created with, I've added thumbnails to make your shopping easier. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever, though more importantly it helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
