Lili of the Valley ~ Hakuna Matata
Lili of the Valley have released some super cute creatures recently, a huge batch of them and I found myself reminded of childhood films my kids used to love. So these cuties were made up to look like Pumba and Timone and Simba from the Lion King.
I know my paper is more Jungle than Savannah, but I thought it made a pretty nice base for these designs. This is from the Tropical Flowers Paper Pack from Whimsy Stamps.
I've used a cool Zig Zag Rectangles die to cut both the Tropical paper and the image panel on the Simba card. After diecutting this, I had a good strip of paper left, so I based the plan for card number two around this.
I created a square card for which accommodated the two images together better and used the offcut of the Tropical Flowers paper to create a 'floor' for Pumba and Timone to sit on. I ink blended a little behind them with some Distress Oxide Ink in Walnut Stain.
I took my time colouring these cuties, paying attention to where I wanted highlights and changes in their coats. Then I fussy cut them out and added them to the card bases with foam circles. This adds a fun bit of dimension and interest to cards which are otherwise quite clean and simple.
Both cards I used the fabulous Hakuna Matata sentiment on, which came from the Whimsy Stamps Filled with Pride Rubber Cling Stamp. I kept these design clean and simple as I'd put my energy into colouring up these cuties. I've used white gelly roll pen to add highlights here and there. The rest of the colouring was done with Copic Markers.
I've coloured up several from this adorable set of creatures and look forward to sharing the next ones. It's a huge set, you can buy the two sets separately or save and get a great deal on both together! I'm hoping for some more creative time soon. I've been busy celebrating my youngest's 16th birthday, but hope to share some more from these sets really soon. Until then, thanks for popping in today and I wish you a wonderful and creative week. Hugs, Wends xoxo

I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
