May the 4th be with you - Sweet Girl

As promised, here is the girl's box card I created for the twins in our family that were born on May 4th. I've been wanting to make this card up for a while, as I coloured the image in anticipation of the event some weeks back. So it's lovely to have it finally made up. I've used some gorgeous papers from Funky Hand for both creations and the girls box card was created with the Summer Wedding paper set. The Summer Wedding set might have been created with a wedding theme in mind, but they're so pretty and girly, they work for a great many more occasions too!

This sweet image is from Funky Kits. It's part of their Sugar Nellie range and is called The Story Teller. There's both a rubber and digital version of this stamp. The Sugar Nellie range is full of enchanting characters. I just love their sweet images, they're some of my all time favourites. I coloured this image with my Promarkers and added Diamond Stickles to the fairy's wings and Eucalyptus Stickles to the Cricket's wings.

I didn't want to 'swamp' the image with lots of extra embellishments, so I stuck to just a few punched flowers, which I added some lovely 'Flourish with a Bling' Copper pearls in two different sizes to their centres. I also cut some flowers from the gorgeous floral paper in the Funky Hand Summer Wedding set which I then glittered up the centres by adding some Stickles glitter glue. The gorgeous butterfly die is from Joy Crafts. It's a wider border die, but I snipped it carefully to get the butterflies I wanted and placed them front and back for depth and balance.

The sentiment on the front flap is from Lili of the Valley and I just thought was really sweet with the cute Story Teller stamp. I inked it in Black Memento. The sweet little gingham bow is one of several like this I have in my stash in varying colours. I bought these from MeiFlower.

Finally the card 'flat' ready for the last two flaps to be pushed up and wrapped for giving.

Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you like what you've seen. If you haven't read my previous post, there's a boy box card for this wee doll's twin brother. You can check that out here. If you missed the link to the fantastic tutorial for these box cards by my lovely blog buddy Janine Quinn, you can check that out here. I'm off to bed now, but for you all in the Northern hemisphere, enjoy the rest of this fun 'Star Wars' day and May the 4th be with you. Hugs, Wends x

I've used them several times recently on box cards and they are brilliant as they don't show when lifting embellishments higher, so they're brilliant for this!) *Update: I won Top 3!
