Loves Rubberstamps - Add A Sentiment
Hey there lovely blogging pals. I have such a happy post to do today. I have been invited to join the Loves Rubberstamps Design Team for a term and I am so excited about this! You may have read this news already, as I've done two of their weekly Sensational Sunday Blog Hops, but this is my first official post for the challenge design team. So I'm pretty stoked to be here! The challenge this week is to 'Use a Sentiment'.
We have a fabby sponsor on the blog this week, it's the wonderful Lacy Sunshine Stamps and the design team were given some gorgeous images to work with for this challenge. This wee sweetie is called Daisy Delite. You can find the fabulous Lacy Sunshine rubber stamps in the Loves Rubberstamps Store.
I've only used Distress Inks to colour an image once before and I'm still learning how it's done, so don't peak too close. This said though, I am so pleased with how this came out, especially the blue background. I'm really enjoying experimenting with these inks and the markers make it so easy to lay down the colour. You can check out the range in store.
I had grand ideas of adding lots of dies to this card. I even had them all cut out, but this My Mind's Eye paper is so gorgeous, I just didn't want to cover it, so I have actually kept it quite sparse. I seriously love My Mind's Eye papers, they have such a fabulous range and they coordinate so well together. I'm looking forward to creating with the ones Laura currently has in the store.
I decided I wanted to try a different card style for this creation. So I chose an accordian fold where the front panel is shorter than the back, so I could create a bit of dimension to the card and also so you can see all of the gorgeous paper that's behind the image, which would normally be more than half covered by it. I did want to add some dies, I had a couple of gorgeous Magnolia ones lined up, a lamp and a pretty window with shutters, but when I tried them, I felt they covered too much of the paper and detracted from the pretty image. So there it is my rather CAS fancy fold card. I did think it would look rather gorgeous to have a few extra blooms around the image, so that was my only embellishment to the image besides the sweet little sentiment from a Little Darlings Warm Fuzzies set called Friendship Sentiments. The ink bled a bit on the watercolour paper, note to self, use alcohol ink paper next time! But I think I got away with it, just.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing my first creation for the Loves Rubberstamps Design Team. Do go and check out what my wildly talented teamies have done for this challenge too, you're sure to leave inspired! Come and join us for our 'Use a Sentiment' challenge, I look forward to coming and visiting your blogs. Big hugs, Wends x

That DP is rather gorgeous so it's lovely to see it in all it's glory and it complements the image beautifully, as do the flowers at the front :-)
