Sweet Stampin' - Use Text or Script
A warm hello to all my lovely blogging buddies. It's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog, so I'm here today to share not just one, but two makes I created for this challenge. I know right! Unheard of!!
I was happily playing with some distress ink, trying to get some mojo flowing for this challenge and frankly got a little carried away. So I've created a masculine themed card and a very feminine themed card for the challenge. The challenge theme is 'Text or Script'. So I'm thinking these Kaisercraft sentiment stamps I've used for this challenge fit the bill quite well. Don't look too closely at my pink card's sentiment, it's a little wonky to say the least! (Unforgivable really, it was a CLEAR stamp!!)
We're sponsored by the wonderful crew at The Ribbon Girl for this challenge. So I thought it was only right that I include some ribbon on my pink card. I've used a delicious, wide, candy pink organza ribbon and then wrapped some candy pink and white bakers twine over it. I added a little diecut key before tying the bow, which I've diecut with a Magnolia Doohickey from one of the Doohickey club magazines.
I used the twirly bits from a Doohickey leaf die, from the 'Fall' edition of their Doohickey magazine to create a bit of interest around the blooms. The white felt bloom is from a local craft store, the candy pink ones I diecut using a magazine cover present die and added two resin blooms to finish. I popped some washi tape on the reverse side of the paper in the bottom right hand corner and rolled the corner up for a bit of interest.
Rolling the paper corner is a technique I've wanted to try for ages after drooling over Lou Daubney's fabulous cards. I love it when she uses this technique, it looks so cool! So this was my tiny attempt to emulate that, thanks for the inspiration Lou. I made a little tag from the same washi tape and added an enamel dot up in the top left corner for balance. I used my scissors to distress the edges of the paper and the sentiment and added a doily behind before adding the twine and blooms. Like the cheeky meerkat says, 'simples'.
For my masculine themed card, I've used essentially the same layout, but I've used 'stars' as my embellishment theme. The fabulous starburst is from Joanna Sheen from her Signature Series. The star border die is a Magnolia Doohickey. I've added a Whimsy Stamps corner die, some enamel dots, which I inked with my Pesto Promarker as the original green was a little too yellow for this card and I used the 'waste' stars from the Starburst die in the bottom left hand corner for a little interest down there. I've distressed all the paper edges using my scissors. Two very different cards, using very similar elements. I'm really pleased with how they came out.
The rest of the Sweet Stampin' crew have been busy with their own makes and they're a madly talented crew, so do go check out their adventures on the challenge blog. I'll be back again before long with my next crafty adventure. Be sure to come join us with your own 'Text or Script' inspired make. See ya'll again soon. Hugs, Wends x

Hope you're keeping well, and that it's not too hot. Here in the UK, Fall is well under way; it's a pretty season with all the rich colours, and so far it hasn't been too rainy, but oh how I miss Summer (this year we hardly had any nice days :-(). Anywho; back to the cards. Very cool sentiment card; great job on the distress backgrounds, they're so playful, fun & pretty. Thanks for linking up to LLC's PINK challenge.
