Sweet Stampin' ~ Girly
Hey there lovelies, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and we've a lovely theme for you this week. We want to see your 'girly' makes. I created this card for my lovely Welsh pal back in London and I was so pleased with all the elements as they came together. I think it's well girly!
The image is a gorgeous retro image from A Day For Daisies called 40's View and I've paper pieced her headscarf with a pale blue plaid paper and added shading on top with my Promarkers. I used a pretty oyster coloured shimmery card stock to mat the layers and a fabulous embossing folder with a very Charles Rennie Mackintosh feel. Wrong era if she's a 1940's chick, but I thought there was something very 1920's about her actually. So I thought the Art Deco design of the embossing folder was a lovely fit.
I used a small Go Kreate die for the sentiment and mat and added a tiny diecut feather to finish. The sentiment is from Magnolia.
Short and sweet tonight, as I need to go and hang up my wee niece's washing. For those that missed that news, we've had the first of our two eagerly anticipated births in our extended family. My sweet niece arrived 5 weeks early! All's well with mum and bub, but she's very teeny and sleepy. So lots of extra TLC right now in hospital before they let them all go home. (Daddy is staying in too, to help) She's absolutely adorable and I'm totally besotted!

Pop on by the Sweet Stampin' blog to check out what the rest of my awesomely talented teamies have been up to. It's such a lovely theme this week, so I hope you'll come and play along with us. Remember there must be some stamping to be eligible for the Top 3 though. I'll be back again soon, I'm off for some baby cuddles. Hugs and happy crafting until next time, Wends xoxo

As You Like It: Stitching, Real/Faux? I LOVE stitching in cards, especially real stitching, but I've very little patience for doing the stitching myself, so I utterly LOVE stitched dies and I used them LOADS! I can't doodle, so drawing on the stitches is not my thing. Definitely a stitched dies fan.

Your card today is beautiful, I love the DFD image, so elegant, and your lovely design complements her perfectly.
