Fab 'n' Funky ~ For A Child

Hey there lovely blogging pals. I'm here today to share a sweet creation I've designed for our current challenge at Fab 'n' Funky. Our theme this week is 'For A Child', chosen by our lovely and very talented hostess Chris this week. Our sponsor this challenge is Little Miss Muffet Stamps and there are some absolutely darling images over in their store. I chose an image I've had in my stash for sooo many years, and never had the chance until now to colour up. (Love when that happens). This sweet image is called Clover I Believe. I've coloured her with my Copic Markers and created the sky with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.

My kiddos have been poorly all weekend. I only just sent them back to school yesterday, so I'm playing catch up! I've managed to colour this sweet image and colour the sweet toadstool border, but I've yet to actually compile my card. So the above is a sneak peek of what's to come. I'll be back shortly with more pics and detes. I've had a peek at what my teamies have been up to and they've made some gorgeous creations. So pop into the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge Blog and check out their gorgeous creations. I'll be back really soon with updates. Hugs, Wends xoxo

Right, I'm back and have all the pieces put together, so here are a couple of photo updates, with all the elements in place...

So, I laid out all the elements, and tried to think of how I wanted to put it together. Then remembered a lovely MFT set, that would fit the red square card base I wanted to use. I used the stitched square frame to cut the pink mat from a lovely Kaisercraft paper. It's from a lovely set called Hummingbird.

I created the card, but felt it needed a little something else and didn't want to embellish beyond the cute CC Designs Toadstool Border I'd added. So I chose a sentiment (after a great deal of hunting for the right one!). The perfect choice was actually from a Stamping Bella Chicks stamp set.

I think it suits this wistful fairy very well. I used an Altenew ink in Desert Blue from a set of mini cube inks I have. I didn't want to use black or brown and my Paris Dusk Memento was the wrong shade of blue for this creation. So I was really pleased to find such a good match in this little set of blue inks from Altenew.

So a hastily pulled together creation, but one I'm really happy with! I love toadstools, that red with the pops of white has always appealed to me, right from a tender age when I had a little red toadstool and Bambi sticker on my school desk at the tender age of 7. Some things we don't forget. Hehe.

Here it is, with all the elements in place correctly. I don't have anyone in mind for this wee creation (which is usually how I craft), but I think it's a real sweetie and any little girl would love this, so now I just need to find someone the sentiment is true of! LOL. Thanks for popping in to visit, love it when you do. I'll be checking in with my crafty pals soon for a bit of comment catch up.

Make sure you stop by the Fab 'n' Funky challenge blog and check out what my awesome teamies created. They're a madly talented bunch, so you're sure to be inspired. No Whimsy Wednesday post from me today, because it's almost June 1st! Which means New Releases! So come back Friday for my first reveal of the new releases for June. Until then, happy crafting. Hugs, Wends xoxo

Oh Wends - you image looks wonderful - looking forward to seeing the completed cards. It sucks when the kiddos are sick - my two used to invariably be ill at the same time for years... Hope all are back to full health now
