Whimsy Wednesday ~ Two Lil' Angels

Hey there my lovely crafty pals. I'm sharing my last Whimsy Wednesday post for January, because, can you believe we're almost in Feb?! You know what that means too right?! More fabulous Whimsy goodies will be released. We've got some exciting things in store at Whimsy this Feb, but today, let me share with you a sweet creation I made for my two 'Aussie' nieces at Christmas time.

I utterly adore this image and knew straight away, that I wanted to use this image for my nieces Christmas card this year. They're chalk and cheese these two, so I've coloured the Angels to look like them, one blonde, one brunette. Sigh, I think these Angels are SO dreamy!

The image is called Angel Wishes by Marina Fedotova. I have such a soft spot for her enchanting images. I love her fairies and these wee Angels when I saw them utterly stole my heart! As I mentioned above, I just knew they would be perfect to create a Christmas card for my little nieces. They're very close in age, and seriously are the spit of these two!

I kept the card design quite CAS which I do tend to do when I'm Christmas card creating, as if I want to get a bulk lot done, I need to keep the card style simple. So the image panel is edged in silver glitter cardstock and popped up on foam for a bit of dimension. I used a digital sentiment from one of Crissy Armstrong's lovely Christmas sets to finish the card and added a wee sparkly gem for a bit of bling and extra sparkle.

I used my favourite snowflake die from Whimsy Stamps again. I've used this to bits this past Christmas, it's just so lovely as a simple elegant finish to a card. I added a sparkly gem to the centre of the snowflake for a little more interest. It's retired now, which is such a shame as it's fabulous! But Whimsy always have gorgeous new dies coming out and we'll be announcing the New Release with all the new goodies on Feb 1st. So be sure to come back and check out what's on offer.

I've been so fortunate over Christmas to have my sister's help with my photographs, but we had a darker day when we did this shoot, so I had a go myself at taking a few shots of this card in full sun to capture the sparkle better, which is why there are two different backgrounds for the shots. I wasn't overly successful capturing the sparkle, so my sis took this one laying flat in the sun to try and catch the sparkle. The wings and stars have a lovely touch of Wink of Stella on them and in reality sparkle beautifully in the light!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Christmas creation with this sweet pair. I still have one Christmas make up my sleeve which I'll share next month. I just LOVED all the Whimsy Stamps Christmas images this past year and used so many, that I struggled to share them all before Christmas! So I have one more to share, before I'm back to creating for the coming Christmas again.

You can click through on the banner above if you want to take a look at the fabulous Christmas collection at Whimsy. I seriously LOVE the range and the different styles available, but you know I have an especially soft spot for the sweet enchanting images, like the one I used for this creation. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure. In the meantime I wish you a wonderful week. My big girl returns to school tomorrow for her first term of 2019, so it's going to be a busy day here! Can't believe our long school break is over. I love having the kids off school. Hugs xoxo
