Christmas at Sweet Stampin' ~ Non-Traditional Christmas Colours

Hey there crafty pals. I'm doing the 'London Bus' thing again tonight, I have 3 posts to share tonight, plus I'll be over on the Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Blog later tonight sharing all the gorgeous creations from our talented Digital Divas. But in the meantime, I'm here to share our new challenge for the month of June at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'. This month we are having the optional theme of 'Non-traditional Christmas Colours'.

I've used the sweetest Stamping Bella image for this creation. I stamped the image in a light grey ink, so that I could try my hand at no lines colouring. When I paper-pieced the coffee mug, I did that in black ink, as I wanted the stamping lines to show more prominently. I've used my Copic Markers to colour the image and chose colours that toned with the paper I wanted to use. The papers are from a lovely BoBunny set called Altitude and I've got my eyes open to get these in digital, because I just LOVE them!

I had a little brainwave to use some paint chips I had in coordinating colours, and mimic the paper merge of the two colours but in reverse. Did you even notice it? I think it's quite subtle but fab non the less! I used the sentiment that came with the lovely Stamping Bella Penguin and the grey of the sentiment is what I stamped the image in, to create that softer 'no-lines' effect. I'm a bit nervous of this technique, I've tried a couple of times, but like to keep the images pretty simple when I'm trying it.

Come and play along with us this month at Christmas at Sweet Stampin', you can create whatever you'd like, but we'd really love it if you joined in with our optional theme. I'm rushing to catch that bus! So I'll catch you in a few minutes with the next installment. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
