Whimsy Stamps ~ We've Run Out Of July!
Hey crafty friends, finally, a day I can catch my breath and share with you my final crafty creation for July, oh but hang on a minute, we've run out of July!!! Sigh, it is already August here in New Zealand and there are only a couple of hours left of July in the US and UK, so this is my speed share, of my last crafty make for July!!
These cuties are from Whimsy Stamps artist Crissy Armstrong and originally came in a set of three clear stamps with smaller companion stamps such as Pterodactyls and sentiments. They are now available as separate digital images which is awesome! I love being able to make them bigger or smaller to fit my creations. So I shrunk these cuties down to fit them all on this slimline card design.
I went for fun bright colours to create this card, the characters are coloured with copic markers and the background of the card was ink blended and diecut. I then used water splatters on the portion of the die that I've popped up for dimension, but the frame that I cut this from, I kept 'clean' and also the inserts, as I wanted to add stamped designs on them and didn't want the water droplets to alter the look of those. I used a stencil, actually from the halloween bats set from Whimsy Stamps, which I used a dark grey ink to add to the very top aperture. I then fussy cut a little Pterodactyl to pop into the top left hand corner to finish the suggestion that the critters flying around are actually Jurassic. I wanted some hints of interesting and different vegetation, so the wee Triceratops is backed by vegetation that actually comes from the Whimsy Stamps Clear Stamp set Sweet & Salty. The final vegetation with that cute T-Rex is from the lovely Clear Stamp set Bunny Delivery and the sweet sentiment I've used for this set is also from Bunny Delivery. This will be for my sweet wee nephew. I think he's gonna love it!
Thanks for stopping in to visit today, I'm busy creating for our new August Digital Release and honestly, cannot wait to share what the incredibly talented Divas have got up to with these fantastic images. It's going to be a fabulous month!
So come on back soon as the Release is live in about half an hour as I write this and we will be sharing very soon on the Whimsy Stamps Facebook Page, so come check it all out! Hugs and catch you again really soon xoxo
