Sweet Stampin' ~ All Hallow's Eve Mousy Mischief

...and I'm back! Take 2 on my Halloween creations for the current 'All Hallow's Eve' challenge at Sweet Stampin'. This was an image a bought a few years back when I saw the lovely Larissa Walgemoed had used these cuties in a super sweet Halloween creation, I thought it was just the cutest! So it's been hanging out in my stash since, waiting for some love! The image is called Boil and Toil Mice and is from Di's Digi Stamps. So this year, this neglected bit of stash got a little love and boy did I have fun with this creation!

I decided to be brave and added a little mystical colour around the image, starting with a more limey green in the centre and working out to paler and paler yellow hues. I really wasn't sure this was going to work out. I really feel nervous adding a background after finishing colouring an image and loving how that came together, so this was real 'heart in mouth' stuff! But I must say, I'm absolutely delighted with how this worked out. I'm hoping my little nephew that I'll send this to, will love it too. I added some white and yellow gel pen accents for that added bit of magic.

The lovely green paper I've used in the background comes from a Whimsy Stamps paper pad. Honestly, they have THE BEST Halloween papers, I absolutely adore their selection and they keep releasing even better sets! This page is from the paper pack called Haunted and was a perfect backdrop for this cute creation. I've pulled out some black mesh from my 'junk' drawer. This is actually the vegetable wrap my avocados come in. I thought it would be a fun texture for this creation. I've used this wrap a number of times, one of the favourite ways I used it was for a witches skirt in this creation. Scroll down the post as it's the second creation shared. So fun to turn junk into something fun.

The little sentiment I used comes from a fabulous stamp set called Eek & Boo by Photoplay. I've discovered their fun products at Scrapbook.com. They have a great range of everyday crafting items that every crafter needs in their stash. So they've become my 'go to' store for the basics, ink, foam pads, glue, stamping tools. I've been delighted with how quickly things arrive to New Zealand, much faster than any other postage during Covid from overseas and they have a really good price point for their baseline international postage. Only $8.99 up to a certain weight. I can usually get all my basics, replacement ink pads, foam sheets and a few other goodies for that postage rate, so it keeps the cost reasonable.

I hope you'll come and play along with our 'All Hallow's Eve' challenge at Sweet Stampin' and as I mentioned in the last post, there will be creations to share for this same challenge, so I'll be back soon with that last one. In the meantime, click through on the banner above to see what my fabulously talented teamies got up to for this challenge too. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
