Whimsy Stamps ~ Wrapping Up The Month

Hey crafty friends, I'm back today with the last creation I have ready to share for November. I'm still trying to finish up a couple of extras, but I have a feeling they'll spill over into December. It's incredible to believe we're almost in December. This year has been surreal!

Our weather is warming up here in New Zealand and we're dreaming of coming out of lockdown and being allowed some summer treats and fun! So this wee creation put me in the right mood to embrace summer. I think these bunnies are so enchanting. There are a couple of sets at Whimsy with these cuties and they are honestly the sweetest. I had fun with watercolouring here. I did a few on the same day, still just trial and error for me as I've no idea what I'm doing with watercolours! But I found the creating so relaxing and enjoyable! The colours dried back a little lighter in places than I wanted, but I just went with it.

I wanted to colour up one of the bunnies as a cute patched bunny, don't know that I nailed it, but sure had fun trying! I'm still learning how watercolour behaves and reacts, so this was interesting and I liked it enough to create a card with it, but I still need lots of practice.

I adore the beautiful sentiment I've used on this. It's a really lovely set and I had it on my wish list for a long while, I wish I'd got it sooner as it really is lovely for a range of occasions. I know I'll use it lots now I have it. The set is called Beaucoup Bouquet Sentiments.

If you spotted the black mesh bag behind the image you'll note I've been up to my recycling ways again. This is an onion bag and I just thought it might add some interesting texture to this creation. The pretty paper I used has lovely tiny black stars among white stars on the pale lavender background so I picked out the black to give the design a bit of gravitas and so it didn't wind up too pale with the soft watercolouring and then pale paper. I really like this paper and it worked well with the colour of the brolly, but I think the black mesh really adds a little interest. I'm curious to know what you think?! Do you like my adventure in upcycling these mesh fruit and vege bags, or are you not a fan? If you want to see some other creations I've used similar mesh bags on, you can check them out here, here and here. I know the edges are a little rough and messy and at first I was not sure about that, but it grew on me and I really like that more distressed finish now. So I really am curious what you think of these upcycling efforts!

Well that's my crafty adventure for today. I'll be back again hopefully before the end of the month, but if not, for sure in early December with some fun adventures planned for then! A reminder that we have a Cyber Monday promotion at Whimsy going on and the banner above will link you through to that. All the digital images are 50% off! Yep, you read that right, 50% off! So if you've any on your wishlist, now is definitely the time to grab them! Hugs and happy crafting xoxo

This is so cute Wends, it's quite refreshing to see a non- Chriostmas make at the moment.
Love the image, your watercolouring looks great, the soft effect works so well with this sweet image, well done you for trying something new, I'm a bit too inclined to stick to what I'm comfortable with! Have tried water colouring in the past but have never really been happy with the results.
I really like the recycling too- the bag adds lovely texture.
Hope you get to enjoy a lovely summer.
