Whimsy Stamps ~ Slimline Snowflakes
Hey there crafty friends, I've got a simple but elegant card to share with you today using an absolutely beautiful die from Whimsy Stamps. This die fills a slimline card with very little need for much else. A sentiment a few bits of bling. Of course there are so many ways you can embellish this beautiful die, but if you want a quick batch make, this really is an awesome choice as the starting point! I pulled mine out too late to have much of a play this year, but I'm determined to make several more like this next year, because the ideas have started flowing now!
Everything flowed rather easily in the creation of this card, bar one thing, which was just an oversight on my part. I added the embossing powder for the word 'Christmas', without first adding my anti-static powder! It's a super fine powder I was using so no amount of careful paint brush removal of the powder was going to get it all without wiping out the actual sentiment, so in the end and after a few rude words, I decided to just heat set the powder and call it a lesson in 'the importance of an anti-static powder tool'! You can see the difference with the word 'Wishes' with which I did remember to use my anti-static powder tool first! Not one to waste anything, I'll still give this, but to a friend who will forgive my crafty misdemeanours.
I used a beautiful pearlescent cream cardstock for diecutting the snowflake swirls. This die really is so lovely and so easy to use and cuts some extra loose snowflakes you can layer over this die or save for other makes as I have done with this card. The fawn cardstock I've used looks almost kraft like, but is actually also a pearlescent cardstock. Much prettier in reality. I paired this with a gold tone envelope to bring out the gold embossing and finished the card itself with some lovely sticky flat-back pearls to embellish the snowflakes. A quick and relatively simple card to create, which as I said, I'll have fun making other versions of, using this die for next Christmas.
I've got a few more creations to share before Christmas rolls around and we're heading into the New Year at such a rate of knots, I need to focus soon on creating for the launch of our New Whimsy Stamps Venture! We will have five amazing teams creating in the New Year and although I'll remain with the Digital Divas, I will also be embarking on a new adventure with the Whimsy Stamps Treasures Team. This is very exciting and you can read all about it here. Hugs and happy crafting in the lead up to Christmas xoxo
