Whimsy Stamps ~ Christmas Cuties
Hey crafty friends, I'm back with another super cute Christmas creation today. How adorable are these little Holiday characters and icons?! They're a cute size for these little postage stamp windows in this fabulous multiple aperture frame die.
These cuties are from Whimsy artist Krista Heij-Barber, I really like her cute characters, so these were so fun to colour up for this make. I carefully fussy cut each character after colouring, and ran a black memento pen along the edge to tidy up any white edges that I'd left. They weren't too tricky to fussy cut apart from Rudolph, which required a little more care around those antlers! I so love how they look popped up on foam in this fab frame.
I used a lovely no-shed glitter paper to cut the frame, but adhered it to some foam before cutting it, so it would have some dimension. I used the newer postage stamp stencil from Whimsy to add the inky backgrounds to each of the little frames. Super quick and easy thanks to that fab stencil. I used Peacock Feather Oxide Ink at the base and Tumbled Glass towards the top. I layered all the pieces together and then added the lovely Merry Large Word Die cut from some fabulous iridescent silver cardstock, over the central three apertures to finish the design. I glued some areas straight to the frame and popped up some of the others with foam strips. I've swapped my liquid glue over recently to Art Glitter Glue and have dispensed it into smaller thin tip bottles for easy application and may I just say, genius! A very cool innovation which makes gluing tiny areas so much easier! I finished off this make with a gorgeous dark Cherry Red Envelope from Gina K Designs, which is now available at Scrapbook.com.
Thanks for popping in to visit today and for checking out my latest crafty adventure, I hope your Christmas crafting is going well and you get to catch your breath a little over the holiday season. I'm very much looking forward to that! We've some lovely plans with family for Christmas and will likely spend New Year with friends, but nothing actually planned there as yet. Hugs and happy crafting adventures, Wends xoxo
