Sweet Stampin' ~ Whimsy Stamps Butterflies
Hey crafty friends, we have some super cute new releases in the Digital Collection over at Whimsy Stamps. I adore the sweet imagery of Sylvia Zet's line, so I was keen to colour up these cuties when they were released. I've made a card with each of the sweet images from this set. But I'll share this cutie first, as I'm also sharing it for my Sweet Stampin' contribution to a new challenge starting today. This challenge theme is 'Things with Wings' so these new images from Sylvia Zet are perfect!
Here is the cutie I've coloured up for the challenge. I just think this is such an adorable image and found a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps which paired so sweetly. The sentiment is from the Beaucoup Bouquet Stamp Set. I stamped it in VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink directly on the image panel. This is my preferred way to add sentiments, direct to the card panel. Stamping platforms have been a game changer for this type of crafting!
I coloured this cutie with Copic Markers and some gelly roll markers for detailing. I also used some Shimmer Markers to add some lovely details to the wings. I coloured the wings with B14, B12 and B0000. I gave the butterfly little denim trousers and a matching tie, I used B99, 97, 95 and 93 to colour these. For the little waistcoat I used E49, 47, 44 and 43. For the fur I used E29, 27, 25, 23 and 21. For the blossoms, I used B28, 26, 24, 23 and 21 with some highlights to the centre of the flowers with a bright yellow gelly roll pen. I didn't make note of the greens I used, but the next make has lots of green and it's likely a combo I used there, was used for the stems.
That pretty border at the base, I've created with an ancient border punch. I doubt this would still be in stores anywhere, but it's the kind of kit you just don't get rid of and I was trying to find some border dies in my Whimsy stash and realised they'd been retired, so pulled out one of these old work horses. This blue Fiskars Border Punch is so ancient, but I found an old listing in my searches. It is the Fiskars Sunburst Border Punch. It still works so well and created a really pretty border for this design. I matted the image over a very pretty blue Glimmer Cardstock from the recent release of Glimmer Cardstocks from Scrapbook.com. This colour is Blue Chip and made a really lovely shimmery but subtle base for this design. I mounted the panel onto an A2 top folding cardbase to complete the card.
Thanks for popping in today friends, I hope you'll come and join in our 'Things with Wings' challenge. My teamies have some great interpretations of this theme, so be sure to pop over and check out their makes too. I will be back soon with another of these cute Butterflies and more crafty adventures soon. Have a fabulous weekend and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
