Whimsy Wednesday ~ No Adulting Today

Hello hello my lovely crafty pals. I've been nursing poorly kids this week and now have the lurgy myself, so I'll be brief tonight, as I just want a hot toddy and my bed! LOL. But I do really want to share my Whimsy Wednesday post with you today too. This chick has the right idea! I sooooo wish we had a bath in this house, 3 bathrooms, but no bath! Bah humbug, note to self, next house NEEDS a bath! She's a penguin after my own heart this one. I just love this image. It's called Penguin Bubble Bath and is of course from the super talented pen of Crissy Armstrong.

I've coloured her up with my Copic Markers and squeee, I'm so proud of the bubbles! Totally just winged it, but really wanted the multiple hues in the bubbles. Soooo pleased with how this came out. I added some gold pen to her shower cap and touches of gold pen to her champagne.

I thought I'd finished this card here, once I'd glued down the flowers with my favourite Olba glue, but I wasn't completely pleased with it. I love the gorgeous paper I used which is a Whimsy Stamps Digital design from a set called Aqua Breeze. This bubbly bokeh style paper I thought was sooo perfect for this creation, echoing the bath bubbles. Once I'd finished, I was worried there was nothing to balance the darker left hand corner. So you'll see my simple fixes below.

I ended up adding a diecut corner which was sitting on my desk, it was white originally, so I just used one of my dark Blue Green Copics to colour it up. Then I added a tiny darker green heart over the light blue one in the bottom right corner. Now I was happy. Balance was restored. Funny how a couple of tiny changes can completely change the feel. But I'm much happier with version 2.

If you haven't yet checked out the fabulousness that is the August Whimsy Stamps Digital release, then click the link above for a closer look at all the gorgeous digital goodies now on offer there. You can of course click on the home link for a look at the full August release which includes the rubber and clear stamps and dies. Sooooo many utterly fabulous images this month. I can't wait to get Halloween crafting! I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure. But until then, have a wonderful week and enjoy some crafty adventures too! Hugs xoxo
