Sweet Stampin' ~ Sketch

Hey there my lovely crafty pals. I've been MIA for a few days, whilst my darling Aussie pal was visiting. She now lives in the US, not so far from my baby sister. So hopefully won't be too long before we see each other again. I'm late posting my Sweet Stampin' DT creation, apologies to my awesome teamies! So without further ado, let me show you what I got up to for this challenge. It's a fun one, a sketch challenge. Which I really like, as it takes the guess work out of the layout. As it happened, I had this previously coloured image in my stash, waiting for me to create a Christmas creation with it, so I pulled all the elements together quite quickly. The sketch made it a cinch! 

I love this image. It is of course Krista Smith from Saturated Canary. I've coloured her some time ago with my Promarkers, waiting for the right creation to use her on. I'd always imagined she was refusing to go to bed Christmas Eve because she wants to stay up and see Santa. But didn't quite know how to put that concept into a sentiment, so I remembered I had a fun Squigglefly sentiment, that reads... "Dear Santa, Define good". Which I thought was a great alternate! I split the sentiment into two, I printed the 'Dear Santa' in a slightly smaller font, so that the 'Define good' would stand out a little more. 

The card design was of course dictated by the fabulous sketch we're using for this challenge. I hope you'll give it a go. It's a really fun yet easy sketch design. I used flat back pearls for the four corner embellishments and layered the oval image panel over a circular stitched circle die. I added a simple wrap of baker's twine to finish the design and the sentiments and I was done. The card base came as a set of embossed card bases, so not embossed by me. I think it's a lovely texture for the base of this design.
