Whimsy Wednesday ~ Summer Treats

Hey there lovely crafty pals. I'm swinging in tonight with a fun Summer creation with a Whimsy Stamps Image by Krista Heij-Barber called Ice Cream Penguin. It's so warm here in Auckland, that we all have Ice-cream on the brain! LOL. So I have had fun crafting with this sweet image.

The fab paper is from an American Crafts paper pad called Everyday. I coloured the cloudy background with my copics. I've seen others do this, where they added grey to create the cloud outline and then blue above to make a cloudy sky. It's the first time I've tried it and love how it came out! I went mad with the ice cream flavours, but there had to be Hokey Pokey of course as it's my favourite. If you've never had Hokey Pokey ice cream, you'll just have to come to New Zealand to try it, it's scrummy!

The bunting, ice cream cone and sentiment were all part of a diecut set that I picked up from my local craft store. But the frame, is actually part of a Whimsy Stamps die, sadly not in stock any longer. I cut the edge away from the main part of the die in a previous make and kept the pretty scallops thinking I'd find a use for it and I do think it's fab on this card. So I'm so glad I didn't throw it away!

I'll be back again very soon with another crafty adventure as we have so many gorgeous new images in the Digital Vault and I can't wait to share them with you! Be sure to check out what the rest of the Divas have been up to, you'll find their gorgeous makes being shared in the Whimsy Stamps Facebook Group. Hugs and happy crafting xoxo

Aw he's cute Wends- and I love your cloud effect it looks fab. I was really interested in your 'hokeypokey' icecream because that was a very old expression here in the north east of England for the icecream man who used to come round with a hand cart in the 1920s and 30's - my grandma used to call the ice cream van the 'hokeypokey man' - I wonder if some northern Englishman who emigrated to New zealand had anything to do with your hokeypokey icecreams!! - it's a funny old world xxx

So adorable. I've just finished an ice cream floaty (aka Spider!) it's so warm here tonight. Your penguin is really enjoying all those yummy flavours on his cones.
Oh what a fabulous card Wends - yes, hokey pokey is one of my favourite ice cream flavours too! Love all the details on this wonderful make
