Sweet Stampin' ~ Party Like A Princess

Hey there crafty pals, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and in honour of the Queen's Birthday we are having a Royal Shindig. We'd love to see whatever you're inspired to create with a Royal theme in mind, be it a card featuring a King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Frog, anything you can think of when the word 'Royal' is suggested (now now, no 'royal pain in the ...' creations), although, that could be fun too! Hehe. Here is my take on the theme.

I've used a gorgeous Sugar Nellie image by Marina Fedotova (can't even tell you how excited I am that Whimsy Stamps now stocks her images), I LOVE her enchanting imagery. I've coloured this cutie with my Copic Markers, her hair, I used E99, YR24, E08 and E15. Her sweet dress I went for Celtic Green and used G99, G98 and G21. I used a very sheer green for the soft overlay, I think it was G20 and then G40 for the darker band. I did her sweet shoes in the same shade as the main part of the dress. I went for very pink skin tones, R02, R01, R00 and R000.

I added Wink of Stella quite liberally to the 'sheer organza' overlay on her dress, but of course you have to hold the card at just the right angle and in just the right light, to capture this on film. So so pretty in reality, I did catch a bit of the sparkle above, but not in the full pics. The rose and her crown also have Wink of Stella on them.

I added a little sandcastle die to suggest she was off to the ball at the fancy castle and backed the windows with an inviting glow to suggest they're all lit up and ready for guests. I used for the first time, a lovely horse and carriage from Couture Creations I bought quite some time back. I wanted the wheels to be wooden, so added the golden carriage over a wood paper base. I used little offcuts of the carriage to back the horses eye patches and saddles with the gold. I trimmed the rectangle flags on the castle and used the pie pieces from the discarded gold wheel spokes to add little gold triangle flags to the castle. Just little touches here and there, but I think they're lovely in the light.

I'll be back really soon with my next crafty adventure, but in the meantime, click through on the link above to the challenge and check out the awesome creations made by my teamies. Do come and join our fun if you can. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
