Sweet Stampin' ~ You Are My Sunshine

Hey there lovely crafty pals. I'm here with my DT creation for the latest Sweet Stampin' challenge. It's my teams turn this week, and because it's Summer time in the UK, we thought we'd have a couple of weeks of Summery challenges, but this week, we'd love to see a Sun somewhere on your creation. It can be stamped, diecut or the rays, as long as there's a hint of sunshine somewhere on your creation, it's all good. Of course, there must be stamping too, to be eligible for the Top 3 honours.

I've coloured up one of my favourite ever stamps from Elisabeth Bell, this is sweet Daisy. I have hunted the globe for this sweet stamp for a great many years and then a year or so back, Elisabeth Bell found a stock of these sweet stamps in Australia at Elphine House and made them available for a short time. I of course snapped up one for myself as quickly as I could, but I bought a spare to give away to a crafty friend too, as when you love something so much, you just want to share, right?! My lovely friend Jools got my second Daisy and I was delighted, as she had always loved her too.

I coloured Daisy up with my Copic Markers and added a touch of Wink of Stella to the flower centres on her garland and in her hand.  I also added Wink of Stella to the 'Hugs' diecut. The sun was diecut from a lovely gold cardstock with a pretty sheen to it using a Whimsy Stamps die. There is quite a lot of sparkle on this card in the right light. The cloud die is also from Whimsy and the lovely double scallop die is an older one from Whimsy Stamps too.

I hope you'll come and play along with us this week. We'd love to see what you're inspired to do and can't wait to see how you incorporate a 'Sun' into your creation. I kept mine in a more muted golden tone, rather than a bright yellow, so that it worked in with the lovely Maja Design papers and overall design of this card better. I love how it looks, as I wasn't at all sure I could pull it off at first!

I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, in the meantime, head on over to the challenge blog and check out what the rest of my talented teamies got up to with this theme. They are such a talented crew, I love seeing how different our interpretations of a theme can be! Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Wends xoxo

Another cutie Wends. Great colouring and I love that luscious rich mat and accents, really brings out the flowers in the patterned paper. It really is summer here today, blue sky, sun and everything, which has been missing for most of June!! xx

Hi Wendy! I recently stopped following a lot of blogs as I'm so time poor at the moment but I especially kept yours because I love seeing your creations. I have this image too, she's so sweet and I love what you've made with her, her little white top has been coloured so well, I have so much trouble colouring white items white, there's a fine line I always cross that makes them end up looking grey lol. Have a super weekend, XOX Lucy

What great luck that you were able to finally add this beauty to your collection of stamps. She's adorable! Reminds me of my granddaughter! :)

The card is so pretty. You've chosen the perfect patterned paper to go with the image.
