Whimsy Stamps ~ Tomtenisse

Hey there crafty pals. I'm here with my last share of November. It's actually already December here in New Zealand, but I've been busy prepping the New Release post, so I'm swinging in before pumpkin hour in Miami, to share my last November creation. I've been working on this cutie to send to my Swedish bestie, as usual, I'm behind with everything and her Christmas box of goodies has already arrived here in New Zealand! So I need to get my skates on!!

I've had a thing for Tomten ever since our Swedish visits during Christmas. I have such lovely memories of walking through Malmö and the shops being filled with gorgeous decorations only the Scandinavians know quite how to do! It is my favourite Christmas style! Every year, my bestie sends me a little Tomtenisse and this lil' cutie in the pic, is my one from this year! Yep, I've opened it already under her instructions, because, it's for Christmas, and must be enjoyed!! (How spoilt am I, seriously?!)

So when this adorable set popped up at Whimsy in their clear stamps range, I just HAD to have it! I've used two of the adorable Tomten from the set to create this card and because they make me smile so much, I couldn't resist adding this big smile on one of them. It's part of the set as an 'extra' and was really fun to have a play with. This adorable set is called Gnomies by Whimsy artist Krista Heij-Barber. You can add extra cute little details like mittens and that big smile, so you can make them look quite unique.

How sweet is this girlie, I think she's so cute as a Swedish blonde! So I coloured her hair that way, rather than grey as the Tomten often are. I just love those wee toadstools too. So dang cute! The other thing I absolutely love in this make is the Slimline Die! This Postage Stamp Die is fabulous and I know I'm going to be making loads of fun creations with this new die.

I used distress inks to create the inky background and added some water splashes and white iridescent spray to create a snowy like effect. The colours I used were Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio. I had intended the surround of the frame to just be a bright fresh white, but when I pulled off the masking tape from my inky adventure, I tore the top of it really badly, so had to think up a quick fix. I had some silver ribbon right about the perfect width, so I used that to obscure my mistake. The God Jul stamp has been in my stash for years and was a Bildmalarna sentiment. I'm so sad they're no longer trading.

We had a seriously AMAZING digital release in November and we have so many lovely images coming in December too, like literally in a few hours!! So click through on the link above to check that all out and seriously come back to check out our Cyber Monday deals. The digital deals are about to get incredibly hard to resist!! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
