Merry Christmas From My Home To Yours!
I've had such a busy lead up to Christmas. Busy days at work and then a both lovely and terrifying thing happened, my boss after I gave her a pretty birthday card, ordered 20 Christmas cards, eeek, I don't think she had any concept of what that involved for me, only a few weeks before Christmas! So a batch make was needed and every waking hour that I wasn't working was devoted to creating those cards. Because I needed to make so many in such a short time, I kept the designs very simple. I shared two from that batch already here. Today, (my last day of work for the year) in a sweet surprise, I received back, one of the cards my boss commissioned along with a beautiful very generous Christmas present, to say it made my day is an understatement!
This card is so sparkly in reality, I added glitter into the diecut sections. This was quite fun to work out a process that would enable this. My first couple of tries with this die, I just stuck down the snowflake and used liquid glue in the open areas. This was one I did this way. I later worked out I could use a sheet of double sided adhesive paper, sticking the diecut elements in place, which of course left some sticky areas where the die had an open design. I simply sprinkled the glitter over this et voilà the sparkle element was achieved. I loved the blue and white design of this card and felt it was perfect using the negative, that I'd cut the snowflake from for another design, to create this card. You can see that design here. I infilled the section I'd diecut with another snowflake cut from blue cardstock and then using liquid adhesive added the glitter to the open areas I wanted to sparkle.
All I did after stamping the sweet Scandinavian design from the Close To My Heart stamp set, was to add a little glitter over the heart in the middle. A simple but effective finish to this card. This design was made from elements of the original design, so was relatively quick and easy as part of a batch make. The gorgeous Paper Boutique Snowflake Die I bought after my crafty pal Sarah showed a creation with it. It's getting good use Sarah, so thank you! Now I've shared 5 of the 24 cards I made for this batch make, so that's 5 down, 19 to go! Not sure I'll get them all shared before Christmas!
Wishing all my lovely crafty pals a very Merry Christmas. Thank you for the lovely comments you've left me over the year, I read every one and it always makes my day. I hope I get to visit you more this coming year too. May your hearts be full and your stash overflowing this Christmas! Big Christmas hugs, Wends xoxo
