Whimsy Stamps ~ Bubbles
It's been my baby girl's birthday this week. She shares this special date with my big sister, so it's often a double celebration. But this weekend, we have Greg's folks visiting and sharing her happy day, which has been really lovely. I can't quite believe my baby is now 15! The Divas have been finishing up our February crafting and I have this last card to share before we move onto the New Release for March! How is this possible we are already moving into March?! I swear someone hit the fast forward button in recent years.
This sweet image called Bubble Gum Fun is from our new line at Whimsy Stamps this year. We now sell the Sassy Cheryl line of digital images and there are some really sweet ones in our February line up. This cutie reminded me of my small girl when she was little, blowing bubbles without a care in the world! Her bubble blowing was of the liquid variety, rather than gum, so I decided to colour the image as gum, but add a few floaty bubbles around her too. The paper I've used is from Denise Lynn for Whimsy Stamps and the Bokeh Paper was perfect for this design. I altered the temperature of the paper to be slightly warmer, so it toned with the shade of gum I'd coloured. A clever and easy trick with digital paper. The sentiment is from another set I had and the bubbles also. I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops gloss over the bubbles which changed the shade of the paper slightly, but does allow the bubbles to stand out a little better. I took a shot before I had added the clear gloss and it really does add something having the bubbles better accentuated.
The frame I've used is a lovely Whimsy Stamps Peekaboo Window die. I think the little circles design worked well for this creation in combination with the lovely Bokeh Paper. The image stops just below the waist, which leant itself well to being tucked into the frame border like this too. I really like how the elements worked together in this design.
We are about to launch our March New Release, so watch this space for our New Release post. I'll be back very soon with that. It's going to be a great month. In the meantime, check out all the gorgeous images that were a part of our February Release. Thumbnails below or you can click through to the store on the banner above.
I found a couple of pics of my small girlie blowing bubbles which I thought I'd include here and my grown up birthday girl in her pretty birthday skirt. For those who enjoy these personal touches xoxo
