Whimsy Stamps ~ Mummy's Birthday

Hey crafty friends, it's my mummy's birthday today! So I have made her a card in her favourite colour with some very gorgeous Whimsy Stamps products. I utterly love this beautiful butterfly stamp and the matching die cuts it beautifully to finish the design. So I've had fun creating something special for my mumma with this lovely stamp set. 

I stamped the butterfly with a lovely multicoloured Kaleidacolor stamp pad from Tsukineko called Bouquet. They're not around so much any more, so I'm glad I bought a couple of different shades whilst I could. They're lovely to work with the and ink pads stay pretty true as they separate out when stored. I splattered a piece of white textured cardstock with some rose gold ink to create the background for the butterfly and then added the 'MUM' sentiment with a fun Quirky Alphabet stamp set which has a matching die set too. This set is so fun for something a little bit different and interesting versus traditional typeface alphabets. I added the little dots to the 'U' to make it look like a horseshoe.

I used a lovely textured cardstock for the purple base but wanted a little something extra for interest to finish the design, so I used a fun slimline frame die which I cut apart in the middle to make it stretch a little wider across the card, so just the box edges remained. I love this unexpected way of using this die and think it adds a bit of fun to the finished design. I'm picking my mummy up from the airport tomorrow, as she's been away with my big sis'. It's my turn next though, as we head up North to our family bach for a little R&R.
