Sweet Stampin' ~ Summer Fun
Hey crafty pals, I'm back for Team Susan's week at Sweet Stampin', I couldn't resist sharing this sweet mermaid make with you that I made for one of my nieces. It fit our 'Summer Fun' theme perfectly for the latest challenge at Sweet Stampin'.
My sweet niece is called Océane. It's French and it is said 'oh-say-un'. She's our lil' nautical bub in the family, our wee mermaid and I often make her mermaid themed cards because of this. Her mama, my lil' sis' loves this and has kept every single card I've ever made her! This particular make has a sweet story, I admired one of my crafty friends watercolouring and some time later she sent me a card and some little watercoloured panels to play with. I was SO excited and I've used a few over time, but this was on of my favourites and it was so perfect for this make. I reactivated the ink to make it splash around the mermaid, so this card is a bit of a team effort! Thank you Sue!
I stamped the mermaid tail in Distress Inks and then watercoloured the tail. I went over the outline and scales with a glitter pen from Kaisercraft to add sparkle and definition. I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and finished the card with some inky splatters and a couple of little black gull silhouettes from the Whimsy Build-an-Island Die Set. They were the perfect size and perfect finish for this card.
The beautiful frame shape was diecut with the Whimsy FaDoodles Frames Scalloped Rectangles Die Set. I popped up the panel on foam for a bit of dimension and interest and added it to a top folding cardbase made from linen weave textured cardstock.
Thanks for popping in to visit today friends and I hope you're able to join our 'Summer Fun' challenge at Sweet Stampin' this fortnight. We'd love to see what you're inspired to create. Do check out what my talented teamies created too. They are always so inspiring! I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure, until then, hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
