Happy Birthday Hubby
This is a few days late hitting the blog, but I wanted to show the card I made for my hubby's birthday back on May 26th. A cheeky one, as he's definitely not a 'leg man', LOL, good for me, is all I can say, hehe. I love this image, which comes from the talented pen of Sheryl Brown from Redonkulous Designs.
Such a fun image to colour with some really cute details, like the pearls in her hair and the bows. I had fun making up this one for my hubby and with the hair almost a bit like Princess Leia (what little boy in the 80's didn't love her?!!) I think I had it nailed for my hubbies birthday card. He doesn't do 'frou frou', so I had to keep it really clean and simple, just the fun hugs and kisses sentiment to finish which I found in my stash and the star border which was cut using a Magnolia Doohickey die. I kept a couple of the stars which were cut from the die to add to the top left corner of the card to complete it. Clean, simple, quick and easy, just a bit of Desert Sand Memento ink to the edges and job done. Here's a closer look at the cheeky wee girlie, pearls, sparkles and all those curves, vavavoom! On closer inspection though, I really do have to work on my hair!!! I used a fine line promarker for this and I think I needed to do it a bit more with some extra shades. Looks a bit twee. But hey, I'm learning.
The Arty Shot (LOL)
The layout for my card is following a sketch from Jen Shultz, which I can't now for the life of me find the link for! But check her sketches out, they're great fun to work from and really helped inspire my choices for this card.
Here's a shot of the card on the dresser after giving it to my hubby for his birthday, the one beside it was made by my 8 year old daughter - Georgie, didn't she do well?!

Here's the birthday boy opening his card during his pancake birthday brekkie. He's mid sentence here, nice!
Finally, a couple of pics, one listening to Zac singing happy birthday while Georgie is taking photos and the last one (sorry photo heavy!) is of the cake I made him to celebrate the day, yummy milk chocolate icing!
Thanks for stopping in today. Love our lil' chats! Come back again soon xxx
