Sweet & Sassy Sugar Nellie
I have a sweet Sugar Nellie image to share with today, from the super talented pen of Krista Smith. This image is from her Simply Sassy range available from Funky Kits. I loved this image called Tiffany, the moment I saw it and have wanted to colour it up for ages. I had no one in mind when I made up this card, which is unusual for me, as I make my cards for friends and family and usually have someone specific in mind when I'm creating. But I just wanted to 'play' and sweetly, my niece had a party to go to and popped in to see me just before going. She still needed to get a card for the party, so I offered her this one and she was delighted to take it, so that was a happy coincidence and I was delighted, that my card found a happy home.
I have coloured this gorgeous image in with my Promarkers and added Stickles glitter glue to the skirt ruffles and hair clip. I had some gorgeous guipure lace in my stash from Wild Orchid Crafts that I thought would suit this layout really well. I love guipure lace, it's my favourite lace, it just adds that little extra 'je ne sais quoi' to a design I think. I also added some blue ribbon which I've had for a long time, I don't recall exactly where I got it from, but I love a little ribbon with my lace. The image mat was cut with a lovely Spellbinders 'Floral Oval' die. It's currently one of my favourites. I think it gives such a pretty finish to an image.
'The Arty Shot'
The papers are Nitwits from a magazine freebie, so I don't know that actual name of the papers, if you do, let me know as I'd love to download them for reprints! They're really lovely. I've used a Whimsy corner die and added a flat back pearl to finish it. Finally I added a couple of lovely heart shaped hat pins tied with pink and white bakers twine and topped with a lovely glass flower, which is from a set my baby sister sent me from America for Christmas. They are from Martha Stewart. I love the pretty hat pins, they're some of my favourite stash to use at the moment and such a bargain at only £1.30 for 30 pins from Wild Orchid Crafts. I edged the image with Angel Pink Memento ink and edged the papers with Summer Sky Memento ink. The sentiment is another freebie from a magazine which I also inked the edges in Angel Pink Memento ink.
A pretty quick and easy card. But I'm really happy with the sweet and simple layout. Most of all, I'm happy with how easy this lovely image was to colour and what a joy! So I hope the wee girlie that ended up with this card, enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Thanks for stopping in today. I wish you a fabulous week and hope you'll pop back in again soon. Hugs, Wends x
