Sweet Stampin' ~ Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday
Hey there lovely crafty pals. It's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'. I'm sad our last challenge wasn't well supported. I thought the theme Dragons was pretty fun and easy, but we had so few entries, so in an effort to get folks playing along again, we've made our theme this week 'Anything Goes with the option of Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday'. I couldn't resist using the Lili of the Valley Pancake boy for my card. He's such a cutie! I saw someone add some pigtails and plaits and turn him into a girl this week, which is such a fun idea! But I've kept him as is.
I've coloured this cutie with Copic Markers and used a lovely notched square die from Whimsy Stamps to cut all the layers. I used the largest size of dies to cut the largest green mat, but wanted to add one more layer to be the card base, so I cut down a 12x12 page of kraft card to just a little bigger than the largest frame and then using a circle punch, lined up the corners and cut them to match. I just eyeballed this, so it's not perfect, but I think it came out pretty well all things considered.
Now whenever I make pancakes, there's ALWAYS smoke! So I coloured a bit of smoke in the pic above the frying pan and then plonked the woodchip sentiment on top of it. I rather liked it before I added the sentiment, but there was glue on the back and once I added it, it was there to stay! LOL. I'll line it up before gluing next time!
Green is my favourite colour and this olive green I wear a lot, so this card is full of all the delish shades I really love! Not sure who I made this for or if I can part with it! It makes me so happy to look at! Hehe, I'm sure I'll find a very good home for it soon.
I hope you'll come and play along with us at Sweet Stampin' this week. I really am SO disappointed that my theme ideas haven't done better. I think these themes have been really fun, but this week we hope for better entries, having made the theme optional. I do hope a few play along though!
I'll be back soon with more crafty adventures, in the meantime, go check out what my talented teamies got up to for this challenge. They are a madly talented crew and I always LOVE their creations! So click through on the banner above for a sneaky peek of their creations. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

As You Like It: Layers ~ One or Many? I'm definitely a multiple layers kinda gal. I admire those who can pull off the effortlessly chic single layer creations, but I'm just not one of them! I like layers and usually, plenty of them! Even with my CAS cards, there are very often layers.
