Whimsy Wednesday ~ Cinnamon & Bunnies
Hey there my lovely friends. It's a busy day on my blog, I posted earlier, but now I'm bringing you my Whimsy Wednesday post, with is a gorgeous image from their Rustic Sugar range. I always loved these images, but never had pennies to spend on them back in the day, so I have been beyond delighted to get to colour up these cuties for the past few months. I find this range utterly enchanting! There's a sweetness and innocence about these images, so so perfect for kiddies cards I think. One of Zac's lil' buddies loves to come and watch me colour, she's quite besotted with these images. So she snagged one of the Christmas ones I did. So sweet to have a little fan!
I spent a gorgeous day in my sister's garden just after I'd finished making this sweet card, so that meant a lil' sisterly help with the photos! Yippee. I am ever so lucky, I know! She comes up with the coolest ideas, like stringing the cards under her gorgeous tree with twine! Yes, you might recognise this from the header I've had on my Crafty Kiwi Mama Facebook page for the past month. Her work, swoon.
I've coloured this cutie with my Copic Markers and I had an idea in my head that I wanted to use a lovely bright floral paper to work with the colours I'd used on her clothes. So I searched through my digital papers and found this gorgeous floral, which I think was such a fun backdrop for this gorgeous image! I paired it with a lovely paper from an American Crafts paper pack which had lots of lovely sentiments across it. I trimmed the paper strip with cotton lace and tied some red baker's twine (my all time favourite twine colour to use!) looping it three times around and tying a wee bow off to the side to finish.
I played with mat options for a while, but had this blue shape already cut and it was such a great match for the papers, I actually cut it up to make it work as it was square. I think it kinda works?! I added some diecut foliage in white and a beautiful soft crocheted white rose and a few red paper roses to finish the look. I just really love the pops of colour on this, it just makes me happy.
I snapped a pic of the colours I used to colour up the bunnies when I was working. I don't always think to do this, but I wanted to be able to replicate the colours, so a quick snap is easy while you're working.
