Sweet Stampin' ~ Got The Blues
Hey lovelies, it's the end of a very long week. I'm so happy to reach the weekend! I've crashed the party as it's actually Team Susan's week to share their Sweet Stampin' creations, but I think this creation fits so nicely with our 'Blue' theme, I really wanted to join in this week. I feel like this theme title totally applies to me this week! It applies to this card too, but only in the colour! How lovely is this image by French artist Jade Dragonne?! I really love this beautiful image and I've used it for both the Mehndi Night celebration for my lovely English Bestie and then again recently for her sister. Nazema loved the one I'd made for her and asked me to make one for her sis' too. You can see the original one I made for Nazema's Mehndi Night here.
I was so happy with how this version came out in the blues. I had done Nazema's version in Red and I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull off another quite as nicely, but I LOVE the way this turned out and Nazema was really pleased with it too. It was so nice to be able to do this for my pal to give to her sis on such a special day.
The paper I used is a stunning creation by Pixel Scrapper Digital Artist Elif Sahin from her paper set called Dear Old Dad. I just thought the shapes and design of this paper really worked so beautifully with this gorgeous image and cut with the Go Kreate XXL frame Frilly Square #9, added a little extra finish too and I think it turned out so pretty. The image was coloured with Copic markers. I added lashings of glittery Wink of Stella on the veil after colouring and added gold accents on the jeweled bits. The shine is just beautiful in the right light. The shot below gives a better representation of this.
I kept the finish very simple, just a sheer white organza bow, nothing that would detract from the pretty image. It needed to travel well as Nazema had to get it safely back to the UK from New Zealand, so simple was definitely best.
I hope you'll come and join in with our 'Got The Blues' challenge this week. As is often the case, our themes are open to interpretation, so don't be shy to put a twist on things! I have of course, focused on the 'Blue' with this creation, but you could take it in a different direction?! Thanks for popping in to visit tonight. Be sure to stop in and check out what my awesomely talented teamies got up to for this challenge too, you're sure to leave inspired! I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure. In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful and relaxing weekend! Hugs, Wends xoxo
