Whimsy Stamps ~ Summerween Surprise

Hey crafty friends, Whimsy Stamps have done it again, with the cutest Summerween release! If you've been following me any length of time, you'll know I'm crazy for too cute to spook Halloween and this year, we have a very special release during Summer of these super cute spookers on holiday! I've had the best fun with these images and with their fabulous Quick Card Fronts too. They are all special release, limited edition products. They will not be available beyond June, so if you love too cute to spook too, grab them while you can! I of course, went a little 'extra' with my creations. I just couldn't stop! I've ended up making 11 cards so far and I've still more ideas flowing! So if that doesn't tell you this is my jam, not sure what will and it looks like my mojo drought is over too!

So I'm kicking things off by sharing the first of my Summerween creations. My scene was set with the gorgeous Slimline Just Beachy Paper pack. I used this for several of my Summerween creations, because the scenes worked so well for adding these cuties to! I used the Slimline Birthday Scallops Die to cut the frame to pop up with foam to create the shaker well. Added acetate and the shaker mix and closed up the well. I added the cute excited spooker on top with a little foam, so he popped up a bit from the scene.

This lil' cutie is having so much fun making his replica of Count Drac's castle in the sand! He is loving Summerween. He's scared everyone else off the beach and has the whole place to himself. But he's fine with that as he's got his pretty sea shells which keep washing up on the shore. I made this shaker card with little seashell shaker bits in the mix, so this is a fun one to shake back and forth and watch as if the sea is bringing these little ocean glass pieces and seashells to the shore. I added some pretty metallic purple seed beads and some iridescent clear seed beads to the mix too, to add that lovely shakey sound they give. It's very satisfying to shake!

I paired this cutie with his super excited expression, with the Boo Die Set. This is a favourite Halloween die set of mine. The wee ghosts in this set are so fun for Halloween makes. But I just used the Boo die this time. I cut it from silver glitter cardstock and then cut a layer from SBC Premium Canvas Cardstock in the colour Grasshopper. I love the texture of this cardstock. It's 80lb, so it's great for layering too.

My lil' spooker was coloured with Copic Markers. I used G43, G40, YG06, YG03 and YG01. These gave a nice bright zingy finish to this cute spooker and really helped him 'pop' in the scene. I used E43, E42 and E41 for the sand, but found it was a little cold for the warm sand colour in the paper, so came back in and added some warmer sand details with some E11 and E13 and a fineliner in the warm tones too which I had to hand. You can see the difference in the sand, in the markers pic below, this was before I added the warmer tones in.

I also used Copic Markers to add colour to the sentiment so it would tone with the background. I used G43 and G40 for this, adding a light gradient of colour to sit it in the scene well. I added some black gelly roll pen over the sentiment to give it a bit of shine and a little dimension too. Simple, but ever so spooky cute! I'll be sending this to one of the little people in our extended family.

I hope you'll join us in exploring this fun Summerween release. It's so good! I'll be back to share pretty regularly this month, after all, I've at least 11 makes with this cuties to share with you! Hope you love them as much as I do!

Do go and check out what all my teamies get up to with this fun set! You can check them out over in the Whimsy Stamps FB Group or on the Whimsy Stamps IG Channel. Hugs, Wends xoxo
