Witchy Waitress

I've been a busy wee pixie this past week, lots going on, including a little impromptu Halloween Party we threw for my 8 year old daughter Georgie attended by a few class mates and her cousins. We thought it was a good excuse to let her have a little get together with the local kiddos. We didn't throw her a birthday party this year, as we had only just relocated to New Zealand from the UK, so it seemed a fun reason to have a bit of a hooley. There's more detail about that over on my family blog - Monkeys & Moonbeams, so if you're keen to see the details, do pop across.

What I thought I'd share over here today, was the wall poster I made for the occasion using Krista Smith from Saturated Canary's fabulous image Witchy Waitress. I had no idea what I'd use this image for when I bought it. I just loved it. So imagine my joy when I found a perfect use for it!

This is Krista's fabulous Witchy Waitress.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and boldly went for a green skin! Eek, never tried that before!! But actually I was really pleased with the result and the flush in the cheeks even still showed through the green, so that was a win. I chose the colours for her hair and uniform, just on a whim, so I was super excited, when some of the packaging from my Halloween shopping, had a trick or treat banner the perfect colour match for my already coloured image, woop woop! I trimmed it to fit the top of the poster and had to trim a little off the bottom of the poster and add it back to the top as the banner was wider than the header space. Can you tell? I think I got away with it. ;)

I left the 'sentiments' down the side, exactly as they appear on the digital download, as I thought it sort of served as a 'menu'. I think it really works, despite the different fonts used and my house full or 8 year olds, just thought, 'she was a really pretty witch'! So I'm pretty sure I got away with that one too!! To finish, I laminated the poster, so that I could also use it next year as I was so chuffed with it. This one's a keeper. :)

A quick and simple post from me. Sadly this doesn't qualify for the current Saturated Canary challenge 'alter it' as I've done anything but alter it! It's pretty much 'as is' with a bit of Promarker wizardry (hehe, see what I did there?) Okay, enough of my silliness. Enjoy the sweet image. I hope you all had a happy Halloween and do pop over to see the fun the kiddos had on our family blog. Hugs, Wends xxx
