Whimsy Wednesday ~ You Make My Life Sparkle

Hello again sweet friends. I'm back with my Whimsy Wednesday Inspiration post tonight and I have such a sweet one to share. This is a super sweet fairy by Marina Fedotova called Mazarine Butterfly Fairy. She's available as a red rubber stamp through Whimsy Stamps and I think she's just the cutest!

I've coloured up sweet Mazarine in peachy shades using my copics and had some fun plaid paper on my desktop that I thought would work well for this creation, so I coloured her hair blue to match! Hehe, I love blue or different coloured hair on fairies! I'm expressing my inner punk with these wacky hair colours! LOL. You can just spot the sparkles from the Wink of Stella on her wings in the pic above. It doesn't show on the outside shots. There's something about the indoor spotlights that catches the sparkle!

It's a very simple creation tonight, just a little touch of bling with some pretty gem flatbacks in the top right corner and on the sentiment strip. I've used that fabulous fishtail sentiment die again to create the sentiment strip. I inked the sentiment in a blue ink rather than a stark black. I love that softer look.

The inside of the card has the rest of the sentiment which reads 'Sparkle'. I used a Whimsy Stamps word die to add the 'Sparkle' sentiment to the inside writing panel. The die for this word, has the 'S' separated from the rest of the word and I didn't want to lay it down wonky, so I diecut the word again in a plain bit of white cardstock to act as a template to lay the word down correctly.

I used my T ruler to line the word up where I wanted it, added the wet glue to the back of the letters and then using the template as my guide, added the letters to the writing panel inside the card. I gently lifted the template away, after I'd allowed a few minutes for the wet glue to grab the paper.

It's a nice little surprise when the card is opened, to have the rest of the greeting in sparkly cardstock. It's not showing in true tone here sadly, it's a pretty 'rose gold' glitter paper which was such a great tone for the peachy colours on the front of the card.

Thanks for popping in to visit today. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my Whimsy Wednesday Inspiration post this week. There's plenty more inspiration on the Whimsy Stamps Facebook page and our their Blog too, so be sure to head over there to see what the rest of the amazing DT have been up to.
