Sweet Stampin' ~ A Pop of Red

Hey crafty pals, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and it's our Birthday Month! Yep, we are officially 10 years old on the 25th! What a ride we've had and still loving in, so we're celebrating this whole month! To honour our regulars, we have decided rather than have one challenge with a prize, we will add all the names from the five challenges in November into a random draw. The winner is in for a wonderful prize from Whimsy Stamps ~ 5 fabulous Whimsy Stamps Digital Images of the winner's choice. Squeee, I'm so excited! Our theme this week is 'A Pop of Red'.

My card was made for my big sister's birthday this year. My big sis' is amazing she is the glamour to my frump. We might be polar opposites in those respects, but I absolutely adore her! So I wanted to make a card that captured some of the glamour and elegance that is my big sis and what better way than a vintage image?! As soon as my sis saw it, she said straight away, "that has to be vintage Chanel!", I have no idea, it's just a cool vintage image! Hehe.

The paper I used was carefully selected for our French connection. You see, when we were little our daddy was a diplomat to France. So my big sis and I spent 5 years there when we were small. (Two of our siblings were born there.) Being 3 years older, my sis' retained so much more of the language and experience than I did, she's fluent in French, where as I speak with a lovely French accent, but the vocab' of a six year old! Hehe. I have always admired my big sister, she is this elegant, entrepreneurial, super smart, ever so chic lady! So to create a card she would love, I tried to capture some of these traits. To my great joy, she absolutely loves this card.

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is of course my absolute favourite crafty store! We are really thrilled to have Whimsy Stamps sponsoring our 'Big Birthday' challenge. The winner will have a truly lovely prize. So we hope you will come and play along with us in our last two challenges this month to be in for a chance at this fabulous prize and if you played along in any of our November challenges, you'll have extra chances to win! Woohoo. Hugs and happy crafting. I'll see you all again soon.

My goodness Wendy, you've blown this one out the ball park. It is simply stunning. And what fun to have spend some of your childhood in France.
