Southern Girls Challenge ~ Die Cuts
Hello again! I'm back with another DT creation, this time for the lovely Southern Girls Challenge. We have some wonderful sponsors this challenge and we are super lucky to have Krafter's Cart, a wonderful New Zealand craft store sponsoring us along with our international sponsor All Dressed Up Stamps. We are spoilt to have two sponsors most challenges, so come and join us for some crafty fun! I've used Altenew stamps set Painted Flowers for my creation. They sell out really fast, so you have to be in quick.
I've taken photos in different lights, as it is really hard to show the sparkle well. I added dots of sparkle around the flowers and in the centre of each flower with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen in silver. So difficult to capture the sparkle, but it's really pretty in reality. I added a few dots around the diecut sentiment too. The sparkle of the cardstock shows the best in the little snippets of the photo below.
I've also used a gorgeous word die from Pink & Main, to create the 'hugs' sentiment on my card. Our theme this fortnight, is 'Diecuts', so I thought this was a pretty element to add to my otherwise very CAS design. It has two parts to the die, the base, which I've cut from vellum and the main die which I used a silver glitter cardstock to add a little interest and bling. I added a strip of the same cardstock down the side of the image panel to tie the elements together.
I used a lovely blue plaid digital paper from Pixel Scrapper designer Marisa Lerin and layered up the main image panel with heavy cardstock (packaging from a stamps parcel) to lift the image panel up slightly for some added dimension. This image panel was actually a 'practice piece' for me, I only used light paper stock, intending to throw it and use heavier paper for my main stamping, but it turned out so well, I decided to use it! Love when things like that happen. The ink I've used on the stamped images was layered up following the Painted Flowers directions from Altenew. I used Crisp Dye Ink from Altenew in green shades of Bamboo, Parrot, Olive and Moss from the Tropical Forest mini cubes set for the leaves. I used blue shades in Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Dusk and Desert Night for the flowers from the Cool Summer Night Altenew mini cubes set.
I hope you'll come and join in the fun with Team Lou this fortnight for our 'Diecuts' challenge. I'd love to see what you're inspired to do. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, in the meantime, have a beautiful day and happy crafting! Hugs, Wends xoxo
