Whimsy Stamps ~ March New Releases

Hey there my lovely crafty pals. I've been caught up with family visits this past couple of weeks and the second of my sweet young nieces celebrated her first birthday this weekend. She officially turns one on the 9th, but my baby sister is visiting with her family from San Diego, so the party was moved forward to have her family there for the celebration and what a wonderful celebration it was!

The photos of this sweet card was taken in my sister's garden, which was were we had her baby shower, just a little over a year ago. You might recall me sharing some pics of that in this post here. So we gathered there again, all seven siblings, our beautiful Mummy and our respective partners and kiddies to celebrate my sweet nieces first birthday. It was such a lovely celebration! At the end of this busy couple of weeks, we have moved into March! Which means new releases at Whimsy Stamps! It's always so exciting, seeing what comes out in the new releases and I'm never disappointed! There's a fantastic range of images in our Digital New Releases and some fabulous new dies and rubber images too in the main release. We're all spoilt for choice!

This gorgeous image is another from the sweet Rustic Sugar range that used to be housed at CC Designs and is now resident in our Digital Vault at Whimsy Stamps. I think this range is really charming and loved it back when it was first released but didn't have time to colour as much back then, so it's been so nice to add to my collection! I love classic images that hold their appeal and these for me, most definitely do!

When I was colouring up the cover art for Whimsy Stamps, I had this piece of plaid paper on my table, and thought the colours in that would work so well with this image, so it inspired my choice of colours. I used my Copic Markers to colour this sweet image. I thought some bright colours would be fun! I had diecut a few of these lovely Whimsy Stamps Double Scallop frames a while back and still had them on my desk too. I thought this muted green one worked really nicely with the paper and the image. I like that the tones in the paper and the scalloped frame were a little softer, so they complimented the image rather than competed with it.

I have a great many woodchip elements in my stash and often want to use them, but can't quite work them into a design. But on this occasion, I thought the woodchip sentiment and sweet hearts, were a perfect finish to this card. I distressed the paper edges before sticking down all the layers, popped the image panel up on foam and used my favourite Olba Glue to stick down the woodchip elements. Whimsy has a lovely range of Chipboard Elements

We have such a fabulous range of images in the March Digital Release. The sweet Pollycraft images, the enchanting Rustic Sugar images, the edgy and cool Tickled Pink images and of course the fabulous 'new to digital' Sylvia Zet Wee Stamps images that were released earlier this year. I just love having digital images. I know there's something wonderful about using rubber images, they're tactile and so easy to mask, but I REALLY love the convenience of digital. The quick download and print, the flipping and resizing and the pricepoint is fabulous too! So we are delighted to have a great many of Crissy Armstrong's gorgeous rubber images now being released as digital images this year too. Such a fantastic lineup now in digital at Whimsy Stamps! If you've not stopped to take a peek, be sure you do! You can click through to the latest release on the banner above. I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure, but in the meantime, I wish you a happy week and happy crafting! Hugs xoxo
